PLATONIC FRIENDS NEEDED!
Name: un: enkidu
Date: 11th
Format: text
[It takes a lot of time tapping this message with less fingers but Enkidu manages.]
recently my truest friend has been summoned from the mirrors but for now he lacks platonic friends to spend time with. he has been living a solitary life as a king and i do not want him to be alone anymore.
his name is gilgamesh. he is very fond of his treasures and also knows the greatest stories about them. he enjoys wine as well. he is great to spar with and likes to go on adventures. his favorite color is gold. once he introduced me to beer and bread and allowed me to eat and drink everything i wanted.
would people like to become his platonic friend? or another sort of friend? as i know that many sorts of friendships are possible.
let me know if you have questions or want to meet him. he can be a bit fussy at first but please do not let it get to you. he has been alone. for a long time.

[ hmmm. ]
Very well. I can find no fault with those statements.
[ you know, spoken like a man who is used to finding faults.
and often outright looking for faults.
but he cannot object to anything related to Enkidu's happiness. obviously. ]
As to what happened in my absence, I would know more of it. [ Enkidu wants Gilgamesh to let it go, But. ] Enkidu should be a nigh invincible existence. We are equals. Therefore, what calamity occurred within this city?
[ at this part, his voice takes on a slight note of tension. a strange sort, though, and not his usual hostility; rather, there is an almost desperate edge. ]
You all speak very warmly of my friend, yet why did none intervene to prevent what transpired against them?

No, people came! It's just, a lot of us were kidnapped? And they had to find us first, but they got us out as soon as they did.
[There was just kind of a lot of torture until then.]

Rathmores. Gilgamesh recalls that name. he knows the culprits, the enemies who had caused this calamity. yet he does not understand why, or how. specifically, if all this was done by one family, he does not know why the people of this city had been so unable to successfully mount a defense. what could have gone wrong? were these Rathmores so powerful? ah, but no; that was one detail Enkidu did mention -- that these injuries were caused by simple knives. ]
I still do not comprehend how so great a disaster could befall so many.
[ the King sighs, visibly strained.
he is not a man to blame himself, obviously, yet he still is set in the mindset of thinking that, were he here, this should never have happened, least of all to his friend. ]
Were you without skills to defend yourselves, I could understand. Yet, all or most here appear to be in the process of growing their abilities. What else is this Coven for, if not fortifying those within its midst?
[ SORRY, YUYA. looks like a lot of explanation duty keeps falling on your shoulders. ]

[They didn't have them beat entirely, and that's how some people escaped. But until then, things felt so powerless.]

[ that puts an entirely different perspective on what apparently happened. ]
To cut to the heart of the matter, I still have not learned why they committed this grave offense. It seems I missed some manner of hostilities between the natives here and the Mirrorbound, yet the assumption seems to be that this violence is a matter of the past.
[ well, no one has explicitly said so, but Enkidu and others have explicitly tried to urge Gilgamesh away from holding onto a vengeful attitude, which would include assuming the worst of any other natives. ]

You should prepare for more, perhaps worse. And consider gathering power so that all might take justice into their own hands. Human nature never changes.
[ says the King who presided over a tumultuous city-state amid conflicting city-states and who has seen thousands of years of human nature, enough to bolster this cynicism. ]

[And executed but he doesn't like thinking about that.] And we were paid reparations. Justice isn't what I'm worried about.

at least Gilgamesh would not bet money on its being so. ]
That is not very bold of you. [ Gilgamesh sighs. ] But you are a peasant, so I shall accept it.
[ Yuya has been helpful in two conversations as against the King's temper, so this is really, truly him in Nice mode. he even looks much calmer overall. ]
Well, you are a citizen, so I shall hear your opinion. [ not that he cares, mongrel peasant. ] What are your present concerns?
no subject
He hopes that never happens.]
... Well, besides going home, what those people did broke a lot of trust. And I think there hasn't been enough understanding between the Mirrorbound and Aefenglom, even if most people who live here definitely don't agree with that they did. And I'm worried about how hurt the refugees are feeling, because this is supposed to be their home now even more than it is ours.
