I'm not sure if anyone knows this or not, but does dust from fae wings wash out of clothes normally or does it need some sort of treatment?

I just got these pajamas and sheets and don't want to ruin them already

Well, I haven't had wings for very long. But I already had those shimmery patches on my skin that kinda... shed on things too, and they don't stain or anything.

At least, mine don't. There's a lot of different kinds of Fae. But I think more people would be talking about it if they didn't wash out normally?

I've heard of magic fairy dust before, but I don't think there's anything magic about it here. It just gets on things sometimes.

Have you tried airing/shaking the affected clothes or bedding out? Since it's (I assume) a dry powder, and as long as it hasn't been worked into the cloth, you should have a good chance of getting it out without any special treatment.

I see, that's too bad. You might have to just learn to live with your bedding looking weird, unless you're okay with washing/treating it every day. What color is your dust? Perhaps you can dye your sheets to match, so it won't show up as much.

As for your clothes, I'd suggest applying lemon juice to the stains and soaking them in cold water with soap/detergent mixed in. Lemon juice is acidic, so that will help break the stains down. Soaking overnight is best, but if the stain hasn't set in 4 to 8 hours will probably do the trick.

I don't know any myself, but I'd be willing to bet there are stain-resistant charms out there for clothing. Or stain removal potions. ... I really should look into that, cleaning magic sounds REALLY useful.

I see. ... I know someone who would probably see that as an improvement to the bedding, but I can see how it would get annoying. Especially if it's prone to transfer.

You're welcome. I had to learn a lot about housekeeping very suddenly myself, when I was younger, which was a very big problem at the time because messes really get on my nerves. Anyway. I'm glad to pass what I've learned along. Knowing how to clean your own laundry is the sort of knowledge most people consider common sense, so they don't think it's necessary to explain.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but... are you implying that this is either the first time you've had bedsheets, or that you haven't had access to them for a period of time directly before this?

I think that would be a good idea. Laundry, cleaning, cooking. All stuff essential to every day life, most of it pretty confusing if you don't know what they're doing.

Well, that's weird. But okay, whatever, I get the feeling that most of us come from circumstances on a sliding scale of weirdness. Welcome to sheet-ownership, I guess.

Good point. Food preparation is very different when you're down to the very basics. I mean, the magitech helps, but our icebox is a far cry from the modern refrigerator. I can't say I'm really looking forward to the warmer months... although I suppose more produce will be available then.

Maybe it is, in some weird way? But it doesn't seem to hurt laundry. Or do much of anything by itself.

If there were more fae around, we could probably figure this stuff out easier.

Oh, you know her too?

She does seem pretty natural at it, huh? I don't know exactly how long she's been here, but I think she changed a lot faster than me.

Mostly I just shrank a lot at first...

Your first full moon?

It happened a lot slower for me. But I guess I was kinda tall, so maybe I had to shrink more first before all the big changes could happen?

It seems like it's different for everyone, anyway, but if it was your first that's pretty fast!
