Name: Sora
Date: 04/01
Format: Video

[It is coming up to Sora’s third month in this world so his monster changes are well underway. Unfortunately, the one that Sora woke up to this morning had him yelling at himself so loud when he saw a mirror that he fell backwards and nearly clonked his own head on the bathtub.

He might need a little help with this one...]

Umm. Hi! I’m Sora. I’m a puca in case you were wondering what’s up with the big giant ears.

[The stream shows a brunette boy with long matching brown-coloured rabbit ears. He’s smiling but there’s some obvious worry in the tilt of his head. Furthermore, Sora’s eyes seem to be a sharp and glowing gold. Weren’t they a nice ocean blue before?]

I was wondering if anyone had any sort of spell or charm or potion that can change my eye colour? Hmm, I don’t mean anything that will wear off overnight or something?

[Sora’s not really comfortable with the idea of having naturally yellow or gold eyes. There’s a little bit of trauma backstory attached to that. Yikes.]

I think I need something a little more permanent. Is there anything that can change my eyes back to blue? Anything at all? Please?

[Is there even anything that can change or mask something like this? Is there any way for Sora to reverse just this one monster trait? He’s fine with rabbit ears! And a vegetarian diet (goodbye bacon…)! And even getting itchy fur and a cottontail! But gold eyes? Say it ain’t so!

What if he just wears a blindfold for the rest of his life...]

Right. Talk to you in a bit.

[She's already made it there, and is currently checking through low-level Enchantment books. She's got virtually no experience with the school, so she's really hoping this isn't a difficult spell.

Assuming, of course, that the spell does in fact exist.

[When Riku arrives he goes straight for the section on monsters and transformations. There's a lot to browse through including the characteristics of each species, their dietary needs, etc. But he's struggling to find much on mirrorbound and their transformations in particular.

Selecting two of the most promising books from the collection, he heads towards the Enchantment books to find Kairi.]

Hey. I hope you're having better luck so far.
princessascended: (You're joking)

[She greets him with a smile, but it's a strained one. Especially when he says that. There's not much she can do aside from hold up a copy of "Tales and Trials of Body Enchantment."]

Well, I found something that looked helpful, but, well... lemme just read this for you.

[She puts a finger under a passage in the book.]

"Be forewarned that enchanting a body, be it witch, monster, or otherwise, comes with certain risks. Should the spell be miscast, broken, or warped in some way, the effects will rebound on the recipient, causing a level of harm proportional to the spell cast. The damage will be focused on the area enchanted, so an enchantment to increase strength might cause cuts or even breaks on the limbs, one to enhance intellect might cause brain damage..."

There are a few other examples, but, uh... I'm pretty sure that means if we did try and enchant his eyes, and the spell broke? He'd go blind.

[He places his books on a nearby table and takes a seat on the edge where he can watch and listen to Kairi as she reads. Her expression is enough of a warning that he's not going to like what she has to share.

He doesn't.]

Well that's...not surprising really. I mean the magic here is pretty volatile already. So much can go wrong with a spell that's done even the tiniest bit wrong.

[And he knows for certain that he wouldn't trust his own current abilities to work such a spell.]

We should research more. Find out if there's a way to make sure it can't be broken.
princessascended: (Woah)

Right. Even if we can't figure out how to make it work, or we just don't have the experience for it or something, we still might be able to ask someone else to do it for us.

[Granted, trying to clarify why this is so important is a little bit of an involved discussion, but she's pretty sure they can explain it enough to get some help if they need it.]

A coven member if no-one else. But before we try that...

[She sets her current book aside and goes to pick out a couple more basic books about proper spellcasting technique.]

Can't hurt to brush up on the fundamentals. One wrong hand movement is all it takes, after all.

[She proved that herself.]

Do you have someone in mind who might be able to do the spell? Most of the witches I know are newer to their abilities.

[And while Kairi has a point about asking a coven member, he's not sure if he would be comfortable leaving something this important in the hands of someone he doesn't know. But, ultimately, the choice would be Sora's.]

Yeah, I think we both know that well.
princessascended: (Oh no you okay?!)

I'm not sure. I do know a couple witches more skilled than I am, but I don't know if any of them are skilled at enchantment specifically.

[She opens one of the books she just picked up and flips to a chapter on basic enchanting.]

That's all I can think of for options, though.
