question. what's supposed to go into a bonding vow? how did your bonding ceremonies go? are you supposed to wear something nice? bring presents? would appreciate some advice.

i'm pretty sure they wanted to get bonded to me because they thought i wouldn't get attached or sentimental
which i'm not
it's just hard not to care about someone's happiness when you can feel it like your own

I see.
However, it sounds like it is difficult to Bond without any attachment to the other person. I don't think you should feel conflicted about caring about someone's happiness. Isn't that true of all people, whether they're bonded or not?

when you put it that way, i guess you're right about that
but honestly?
i guess that makes me feel unsettled
people i care about don't really tend to stick around
it's not their fault or anything
[ But it's a pattern. ]

That makes sense. That kind of fear plagues a lot of people, doesn't it? ]
The thought that people will leave us is something we all have to face in one way or another. Not every friendship or relationship lasts. I'm also worried about the day I'll have to say goodbye to the people I care about. But that day hasn't come yet, and by worrying about it, we won't be able to enjoy these precious moments we have now.
By treating every moment with this person as something unique and special, you'll have good memories to look back on when you're older.
