[At first, nothing appears in the video aside from the expanse of sky and the hint of a stone wall at the edge of the image—-soon enough however, something large and white encompasses the screen, a muted snuffing noise filling the audio.

Soon after, a gloved hand appears in the frame as well, pushing what appears to be a scaled snout out of the picture with some indistinguishable words before the face of a tan man appears in the frame, hair mussed from what appears to be a large reptile nuzzling its snout against the back of his head.]

Sorry about that, I’m still working out the kinks of how this thing works. [A hand gestures to the screen.] I’m in a bit of a bind though, and I figured this would be the quickest way to get answers.

[The white creature shoves it’s head under his arm, resulting it a bit of a scuffle before Claude settles for scratching its chin.] See, my girl here is getting kind of antsy, and I was wondering if there were any good places to let her go flying, as well as hunt for food. Of course I could buy her meat at the shopping district, but-- [he’s temporarily shoved out of frame before pushing the scaly head away] --stop for just a second would you--but I think some exercise would do us both good. Does anyone more familiar with this place know somewhere to stretch out your wings?

[Dimitri's screen flicks to life at that terrible straight white boy angle - from his lap.]

Some discipline would do her well too, I think.

[Dimitri falls so easily into the friendly banter they'd exchanged in their school days - for him, it wasn't so long ago. Claude's affect hasn't changed much, and while Dimitri suspects that's by design, he's grateful for it.

He'd always enjoyed his company.]

If you had good control over her, I think there would be many places willing to let her hunt.

[Whether that's for better or worse is yet to be seen, but, well... start with the simple statement of fact, and ignore any problems from there. No big deal.

Anyway. His expression started out surprised, but settled into something pleasant but... thoughtful, as he tries to figure something out for the wyvern's sake.]

You could probably go flying out in the wilde, but... I wouldn't let her hunt anything out there.

[Claude puts on a look of mock hurt, holding a hand dramatically to his chest.]

Are you implying that my girl isn't well behaved? [He says as the girl in question nearly has her whole snout in his shirt.] Frankly, I'm a little offended--she's one of the most clever and even-tempered wyverns out there! I never remember you being so callous as to call out a man on his parenting methods, your Princeliness.

[ It would be odd for Dany not to leap upon this incoming message. At most, she ignores the use of technology but... of course, something catches her attention.

It was quick for her to turn her device on – behind her a small shed and the glimpse of dark black scales of... hm, something. Not quite in frame enough, but Claude at least would be able to see the mother of dragons herself. ]

I'm sorry – is that... a dragon?

[ Dany's dragon-detection is going nutso. ]

[Lorenz rarely used the video function. It made him uncomfortable on a viceral level-- but, this? This...

Popping up a touch too quickly is the face of one (1) Alliance noble... appropriately crowned in a pair of antlers that were bedecked with delicate pink impatiens.]

First of all how are you even managing your wyvern in the city? She's too large to comfortably be inside these walls.

Second of all, where were you hiding and when did you even get here?

[Dimitri squints at his screen...

Yep, that's a fake offense taken. Maybe he would have been thrown off in person, but with the safety to scrutinize through a barrier, he managed to be quicker on the draw.

I don't doubt her intelligence - you would surely have a companion that suits you in that regard. I'm simply stating that this display won't inspire confidence in anyone possessing enough land to allow her a hunt.

[He basically has the wyvern in a semi-headlock, rubbing behind her horns as he hums over Sylvain's words.]

I'm not really keen on risking her or my life on something I don't know much about, though I'll keep that in mind.

A wyvern, yes. [Dragons were a whole different mess of divine entity where he was from. ] This world was kind enough to let her embark on this journey with me.

[There's more of a snuffling at the screen from the wyvern before Claude takes a step away so the entire creature is mostly in frame.]

I see you have a friend of your own? [There's a smile on his lips as he nods to the camera, eye catching the glint of scales.]

Well, there's not many other places for a poor man like me to keep her is there? [He has the audacity to chuckle, scratching the wyvern under the chin.] The cottage I found at least has a decently sized green area for her to stretch out in until I can work out something better.

And for your second question-- [His smile only grows wider] --I've become more familiar with this place than you may realize.

Seems like it sent you home just long enough to let you bring a friend along. Lucky you.

[He's honestly kind of jealous?? Sure, his warhorse isn't nearly as playful or friendly as Claude's wyvern, but...

Look, it's been a while and he's feeling more like a Dark Bishop than a Dark Knight. And he doesn't even have a spooky magic snuggie to show for it.]

That's for the best. I can only assume it would be safe enough if you stayed airborne, but... as always, there are no guarantees, and I doubt you'd want to drag someone along for safety when the point is to let her stretch her wings.

[Anyway. Still thinking. Hmm. Hmmmmmmm.]

Maybe some of the winged monster sorts will know better than I do. Dragons or harpies or fae who are less inclined to stay indoors than the one we know.

I'm sure she would be thrilled to eat something you made--though she can be a bit of a glutton, this one.

I've heard a lot of the dangers of the outside, but I also loathe to keep her completely cooped up in the city without anyplace to roam. I'm trying to find the safest option for us both.

Do not take that beast out to the Wilde to hunt if you value keeping it alive for long.

I have a yard if that is what you needed for her. It isn't much, but it is green and has a garden that I have been keeping.

[He huffed, clearly miffed that his own work at becoming a curator of all the gossip that was worth a damn in town had been thwarted by Claude. How could he have missed a happening as huge as this?]

But clearly you want your solitude. I can respect that, even if I do not fully understand it.

[Being in a large house that was otherwise uninhabited tended to make his nerves irritable-- he couldn't stand it, and it was why he spent more time out of his house than in.]

It's not my goal to get us both killed, which is why I'm asking people more familiar with this place if there are any options.

[He laughs, honestly a little impressed that Dimitri didn't immediately fall into the habit of apologizing.]

She's much more alert when it's not just me with her. [There's a cooing at the wyvern, who pulls her snout out of his shirt to press it against his face.] I think the strangeness of circumstances has her riled up, understandably.

I do count myself lucky to not be alone in this. [He winks] You are all nice, no offense--but me and this girl go way back.

[He hums as well, hand still absentmindedly patting the white scales in his grip.]

You wouldn't happen to know any other winged-beings here other than our timid acquaintance? I haven't met anyone with that description yet.

You know me so well, Lorenz. [He gives the camera a wink.] Though perhaps if we can't find better arrangements you can offer your space to babysit for me while I look at some tomes the Coven has to offer.

[He takes the moment to offer something to the wyvern that she begins to chew on, allowing Claude to step away.] I'm not far from The Haven, there was a cottage unused there I was able to take residence in [He looks up, probably toward the place in question.] If you truly want to bring me a housewarming gift that badly, I can send you the address in private.

No offense taken. It's hard to compare to such a lovely lady anyway.

[And he'll just go ahead and wink back.

Please. We both know you would eye any gift I bring with that suspicion you handle all of your affairs with. If there's something you truly need, speak now and I will gladly bring it. We've known each other for near six years, Claude, but you are still in many ways a mystery to me. For all anyone knows, you may already have what you need-- and that would truly be embarrassing if I were to bring you something, wouldn't it?

[ The first thing out of her mouth was an annoyed huff – as if she felt envious of such news. Daenerys had been fortunate to acquire Drogon a few months after, but she still recalls how lonely she felt upon arrival even with her knight here as well.

The wyvern was different, of course, her eyes narrowing as if trying to tell the difference. To her? It was still a dragon. His correction was noted. ]

You could say. [ She leans back, Drogon attempting to find comfort in an old shed he had begun to outgrow in a month's time. Claude'll be able to see his size rivaling a mount from his world, but to her? He's still too young and far too small. ] His name is Drogon.

[ She returns her gaze, less stuck on introspection, as if trying to make sense of why Claude has his girl already and more friendly. Helpful, even if you squint. ]

And yours...? What is her name?

[Apologizing is a strong habit... but nagging is stronger this day.]

That's understandable - anyone would be disquieted by such a change. For an animal, I imagine the stress is even more-so.

Still, hearing that she's more alert around others does concern me. If I'm remembering Wyvern temperaments correctly, she'd be rather protective of you, wouldn't she?

I'd hate for her to lash out.

[ He sincerely has every intention of answering the question being asked, but he also has questions and those take priority. Obviously. ]
