so i've got a bunch of questions
and not all of them are related so i hope you'll forgive how disjointed this is
1. was anyone else non-human before they came through a mirror? are you a monster now or a witch?
2. apparently i'm going to start growing feathers soon. how different is it to care for feathers than it is hair? do i need to invest in special shampoo?
3. this one might be kind of weird but... have any arachne produced silk for knitting? or would any be willing to if it's not too sticky?
4. how much of an empathetic connection is formed with a bond? can you strengthen it? diminish it? has anyone with a bond had previous experience using or resisting empathetic/telepathic abilities, and did that affect they way your bond works at all?
5. has anyone put together any real research into how bonds work and how much they affect control over bestial changes and magic?
6. where can i get sunflower seeds? for eating, not planting. i've got a craving
thanks in advance for any answers!

ABOUT BONDS... IT FLUCTUATED A LOT. WHEN SOMEBODY CARES ABOUT YOU, AND IS WORRIED FOR YOU, IT GETS PRETTY STRONG. WHEN THEY'RE FOCUSED ON SOMEONE ELSE, SOMETIMES IT'S WEAKER.
DOCTOR WARTHROP WAS STUDYING CHANGES... I DON'T KNOW HOW FAR HIS RESEARCH GOT. BUT I BET IT INCLUDES BONDS.
[Past tense, included, as the mirrors seem to have tugged the doctor back whence he came.]

so it's tied to the strength of emotions and who those emotions are for?
interesting
was dr. warthrop another mirrorbound?

2. At home, birds typically preferred to bathe/wash themselves daily as it improved the look of their feathers. No special shampoo needed unless you want a specific scent. Just be gentle and make sure not to pull too hard.
4. I have been bonded for about a year, and I find that it differs depending on the Bond itself and what we're both feeling. But I don't think it's too hard to not share certain things.
5. I've noticed that I have better control over my magic. I can only speak for myself as a Witch, but I feel like we're not putting ourselves and others at risk by not bonding.
6. You eat seeds??
no subject
i'm gonna take a wild guess and say you're a red deer and not like
an elk or something
right?
gentle, don't pull hard, wash the feathers more often than my hair
got it
thanks!
i'm honestly not really worried about over sharing
[ this is half a lie ]
but i've got some friends back home who are empaths and telepaths
and i was wondering how the experience might compare
if you were given a scale like 1-10
1 being no control over magic and 10 being complete control
where would you put your abilities pre- and post-bond?
yeah, i do
i did even before i became part bird
they're a good snack food

I don't believe it's necessarily a diminishment of the connection itself, however.

I'm still learning how to spin it, but I can produce silk that's non-sticky. How much do you want?

down-low?
whichever
and a couple yards just to experiment with would be amazing, if you don't mind!
i'm really like knitting
(even though it's kinda a grandma craft)
so i'm really interested to see how it differs from other yarn fibers i'm used to

Most of these can be answered in a book, child.
Also, I've unfortunate news that sunflowers are not a common flower here. But you'll find salted, roasted flax seeds can be a nice treat, still. Take it from an old bird to a younger one. [ A small chuckle. ]

4. It depends on the Bond, at least in my experience. It's entirely possible to lessen the effects of the emotional connection at will, but I don't know what kind of effect that would have on the Bond over a long period of time. I don't do it often.
no subject
if you don't mind me asking
that's what everyone else is saying
so far i haven't had any answers as to whether someone has tried to strengthen their awareness of the bond
i can understand why but that's also kinda telling
un: no
As for your question about bonds, it seems that there is a strong empathetic connection. I am currently unsure if this can be strengthened or diminished. However, I can say it has allowed me to be there for my bond when he was overwhelmed with emotion.
Let me know what you learn about research into how bonds work. This is important data I would like to review.

i'm going to be putting together a summary of what i find out from here and any books i can get my hands on

Four: I have two bonds, and I've found that the connection is stronger or weaker depending on a lot of things. How close we are, if we're touching, how strong something we're feeling is.
I guess that isn't really an answer is it sorry

and don't apologize!
all data is good data especially at this point
i'm just trying to feel out what this bond thing is like
see if it sounds like things i've interacted with back home
