Wedding bells are ringing, and you're dressed to the nines. Surprise! You're in LOVE now... with none other than your Bonded*!!! ...And you're getting MARRIED!! What's more, this is going to be your DREAM WEDDING!!

Describe it to me: what does your ideal wedding day feature, with your Bonded betrothed??

*If you're un-Bonded, you thought of someone. You're marrying them now. Ha-ha.

ANYWAY. YES! THEY DID! BUT THOSE WERE A LOT OF BONDING CEREMONIES. AND DIET WEDDINGS. NOWHERE NEAR ON THE SCALE I'D LIKE TO IMAGINE. SOMETHING BIG. SOMETHING FLASHY! AND I WANT TO KNOW HOW MY IDEA OF A WEDDING... COMPARES TO THE REST OF THE MIRRORBOUND POPULATION.

SO. IF YOU GOT MARRIED... WHO WOULD IT BE?? DON'T BE SHY!

I don't know much about how weddings are supposed to go... I've never been to one.

[And this is bringing up some confusing feelings, because so far Connor has tried his hardest not to fall in love with Hank. He fell in love before, twice now, and they both left.]

I guess... I've been told it's like Bonding? You say vows, anyway. Do you know what weddings are like?

It also comes as no particular surprise to read, considering how often they seemed to be circling the subject, a pair of vultures waiting to descend and devour the rotting corpse of marital bliss... which is a metaphor doesn't quite work, actually. Let's scrap it. In any case: Mettaton seeking ideas for the horror he intends to inflict upon him does not come as any shock.

[A small admission, because things have certainly developed quite a lot since they Bonded a year ago. And Connor thinks he would have a lot more to say this time.]

[This is 100% the reception Mettaton anticipated out of Emet-Selch. Keep the metaphor, every sort of metaphor for this circling behavior could only lead with marriage being the corpse or the prey circled by a pack of wolves or vultures or hawks.

Paperwork... How are we so well-aligned? You should know. I ADORE paperwork. The thicker the stack, the more arduous, the better.

As for guests and silence... You already suggested that! Remember? Back when we talked about how many marriages we could pack into a single wedding day. Now, if it were a ceremony just between you and I, as you fantasize... aren't there any other features you'd covet?

Tiered cakes, separate cakes for one of the couple... You're in luck if cake is your priority, aren't you? I agree. Cake is a centerpiece to any good wedding.

My sister had a tiered cake and cupcakes at her wedding. It was a truly extraordinary amount of cakes and I think proof that the more cake you have for people to eat the better the wedding.

Oh, my. Fabulous! A long-lasting event, lively and full, one grand enough to extend out into other regions by broadcast...?! I love it!!! That's my kind of wedding. Too bad Aefenglom has no method of broadcast, besides radio... A shame. The beautiful attire can't be captured by that.

You have such a unique perspective of the world, Allura, darling. Given that you've met many kinds of people, as I recall. You must know what unique features different cultures might have, to their style of matrimonial union.

[There will be nothing left of marriage after all of that circling and tearing apart of its possibly-decaying flesh. The carcass of the entire institution will be devoured whole, and hereafter banned.

But they do know. Doom only gets closer with every tick of the clock.]

Then you're welcome to as much of the paperwork as you desire. I did say that at least one of us should enjoy the affair, correct? Consider it my part of any compromise.

As for the rest, you should know my thoughts wouldn't have changed. Private, personal- nothing like what you would prefer. When I've no wanting for a celebration, 'tis hard to have much opinion on choice of decoration or outfitting, or details like that. Even then... more subdued than you would want, I suspect.

Are you getting married?

I don't think you're wrong about that. Telling one another your truest feelings, laying yourself out for them... It's a sort of trust you can find only with someone that special.

It sounds like you have the right idea, for the framework of a wedding. Other things to consider... How big is the guest list? What sort of venue is favored between the two of you? What is the dress code??

My ideal wedding. Something larger than life... Something unforgettable, a guest list of friends and fans alike! Why not make it accessible to anyone, really?? Beautiful wedding cakes by the dozens to accommodate such attendance... Gorgeous, crisp suits... And a dress code to match, suits and gowns abound. A reception afterward where we're the stars of the show, as is natural. We'd be married in the middle of an audience, if I could have it my way.

Aefenglom limits me. I'd have my ceremony broadcast on TV! I am a star, after all.

But I understand. Your ideal wedding would be concise. It would cut to the chase, remove all of the extraneous affairs, so that we could quietly return home together. It's not so bad. I might be willing to tone it down, as a compromise... How about that?

Making damn sure to set up no licking rules so that Connor doesn't lick half the guests and/or the cake to 'analyze' it and check if it's below suggested sugar intake levels or some shit.
