[ Percy is visibly in the forge, no surprise there, but it doesn't seem like much work is getting done. He looks more than a little manic, not quite able to sit still at the moment. And also like he may not have slept much recently, which might explain it. ]

Alright. I wasn't going to...[ he takes a breath and makes himself settle. A little. ] I've been hearing a lot about bonds recently. And obviously, I can only speak to the Witch side, but for that, I'm going to tell you a secret.

[ He leans forward a bit, mostly to make the point. ] You don't need one. If you want to bond, by all means enjoy yourself, but my gods don't let anyone convince you that you must have one. Going without may not be pleasant or comfortable or even particularly safe, but it is possible. I've managed without for well over a year, and I--

[ Whatever he is gets cut off by a deeply unimpressed woman's voice somewhere in the background easily overriding him: ] Percival, what the fuck?

[ And Percy's eyes shoot wide with maybe just a hint of panic before the video abruptly ends. ]

Honestly I- I thought you knew? [He seems a little sheepish, and kind of ashamed here. It's certainly not that he was keeping it a secret on purpose.] And the last time I tried to get Percy Bonded, before you arrived, it went... not well...

..I assumed he had one already, so how could you know? I really should have know better.

But it’s been corrected now. [willingly or otherwise]

Oh dear. [her voice brightens; definitely a grin] That bad, huh?

I mean, he- he wasn't exactly telling anybody he had a problem because he didn't think he had one. I'm glad he's got you. He's- you know, he's my friend, so-

[So he's glad he's not going to explode one day.

And then he cringes.] Ah, well... Yeah, it- it wasn't great. One asked if drinking his blood was on the table and I just. Some people are so weird!

That's Percy all right. [there's a sigh - a knowing one.] He may not have listened, but I've no doubt that he would have managed half as well as he had if he didn't have you here, and those few others he considers a friend.

And now he has both of us.

[ The grin is gone - and there's a rather long pause before: ] ..I'd forgotten vampires were a thing here, too.

I don't know if I did, but if me being around helped him hold out this long, I'm glad. [A weak smile.] It's been... I don't know what I'd do without him and- and you, and my dragons around. I haven't been un-Bonded all that long but it's more tiring?

[He cringes slightly.] Yeah, they- they are. I know they can't help it but... that's not the thing you ask on the first meeting!

Is it? [concern fills her voice] I know you have Toothless, but if you feel you need extra help..

[ No more Forge explosions. The first fine was big enough, and they haven't made enough to cover a repeat event.

Plus, you know. Hiccup's health is important, too. ]

No.. Though frankly, if they're upfront about it, better than hiding the fangs behind a false smile of friendship.
