[It is pretty obvious that whoever is using the watch is not used to cell-phone style devices. Used to being recorded, yes, of course, but not like...selfies or recording himself. So at first the video swings wildly and dizzily all over the place before settling on a very close up recording of a single green eye. Then the camera pans out, and Klaus lifts a hand with "Hello" clearly tattooed on the palm to wave with a little wiggle of his fingers.

He's grinning, but he looks exhausted. Are the smudges around his eyes from sleep deprivation or smudged eyeliner? The world will never know.]

Hello, citizens! Or whatever we're calling ourselves this fine day. Victorian-era folks? Old-timey wizards? Whatever, whatever, you know what I mean.

[A pause, and he rubs at one eye, still smiling.]

So. Important question. If a guy were in say...some serious physical and-or emotional pain, where would he go to get a little relief in this place?

[A pause, and he lifts his free hand to cover his face, shaking his head, murmuring under his breath.]

No no no...that's not right. Fuck, there's probably not even an NA chapter in this place.

[A few seconds, he gives his head another shake, and the smile comes back up as if it never left.]

Or, well, you know! Other distractions. Right. Non-medicinal distractions. What do you do for fun around here?

[His voice goes a little weird at the end, and he waves a hand idly, as if he can't quite believe it. He kind of can't, but for a variety of reasons.]

Soooo, do you know if they have mixers for that kind of thing? Bonding speed dating?

[Klaus is patient while the dude types out a list of band names and music shops. And once it comes through he realizes that he has zero idea how he'd find where these bands are playing. The shops might be easier, but the prospect of figuring out where to find live music seems daunting beyond belief. Pretty much everything that isn't either finding his next hit or taking a really long bath does, though. So. No use whining about it.

Instead, he just scratches idly at his bare upper arm.]

[And then Styx is abruptly exclaiming about Klaus dying, and he lets out a breathy little laugh.]

Oh man. Yeah. Quite a few times. Got pretty good at it, if I do say so myself. Only went to the afterlife once though, the rest of them didn't stick for more than a few seconds.

[He waves a hand, as if brushing it off.]

Anywho. Uh. So I'm trying to figure out how I even go about finding any shows here. I was thinking, maybe we could meet up and you could show me?

[It takes a few minutes, and when it comes through it's horribly misspelled, but he sends over the address of the place he's staying in Haven.]

No no, no. No reason to wait or anything.

[Lifting a hand, he rubs at his face, and for a moment he looks agonizingly exhausted, his eyes dark and his expression drawn.]

Like, honestly I could probably use the help.

[And then he waits, lying on his back on the bed in the empty room, staring up at the ceiling, one arm thrown over his face, both looking forward to some company and dreading it all at once. When he hears a sound at the door, he makes a noise in his throat.]

Come iiiinnnn...

[It's sing-song, lilting, because being stupid and ridiculous is the only thing that keeps him going sometimes.]

[Frankly, he's pretty surprised that he even has a mental alarm warning him of impending bad decisions. Must be all that time hanging out with Ben, because the alarm sure sounds like judgy Ben-voice.

Cold turkey isn't the best way to approach it so that was a smart move before. I've never had to go through withdrawal so I can only talk about what I know on an academic level, but only someone uneducated would call it easy. Focusing on other things, like you're trying to do, is smart.

Could you see dead people before, or are you referencing the movies? You said your world doesn't have magic, but now you're saying your brother could teleport? It sounds like something bad happened. The magic here, once you learn to use it, seems a lot more stable.

I do not... I've not much taste for socializing. I was fortunate to meet someone I resonated with.

[Luckily for Klaus, there are only so many street names in this city. A misspelled address can be solved with a small amount of guesswork. (Though it had taken Wen Ning a little time to figure addresses out at all.) He thinks he still makes good time.

The greeting after he knocks isn't surprising. A sick man isn't going to feel like meeting someone at the door when the outside world might be brighter than the inside. It's a good thing there are no dangers to worry about, he muses as he opens the unlocked door.]

It's me.

[His voice is hopefully familiar enough, and easier to remember than a name when someone is feeling particularly awful.]

Is it alright if I just look you over first?

[He doesn't ask where Klaus is. He'll follow the voice when he replies.]

[he really isn't? ready?? to depart (haha) from this topic, but the casual manner in which Klaus not only expounds on but continues past it essentially leaves Styx no choice. he simply doesn't have enough of an assertive nature to manually reel the talk back to where he'd like it to be, especially not with his brain still staggering from what little information there had been to process.

[Klaus is still talking, and the drummer is indeed making a noise to indicate that he's (physically, anyway) present and listening, but it takes him a rather awkward length of a pause to give any sort of meaningful answer. right. they were...talking about music? he thinks? god, he can't even remember for sure now.]

Uh, yeah, sure! City's pretty big when you first get here, 's kinda hard to get around on your own 'nd stuff. Don't mind showing you whatever!

[where was the guy right now anyway? it's kind of an important detail, but one which Styx in his faintly addled state fails to inquire after.]

Mm! I've been to a couple before, though I don't really know what kind of schedule they have for them. There's a lot more music during holidays here too, but I'm also not really sure when those holidays are until everyone starts to decorate for them.
