Clearly not! Though I hardly think that you can deny that larceny, like grevious wounding and murder, is an act of aggression that encourages retribution. Were one gentleman to loot and plunder another's abode we cannot argue it is meaningless. Not when it violates the victim's personal sense of security and faith in society.
