Wasn't he also at fault for allowing things to go too far? For never asking questions when he should have, only to be surprised when he was confronted by the truth later?
Maybe he can't just walk away and trust Jin Guangyao will always make a choice he stands by, but in that case, shouldn't he be the one to draw clearer lines?
