[After awakened at the coven and he has a lot of information being explained to him, he's been encouraged to find a place of his own, but not without some help getting there to one of the houses, needing a guide. He's not sure where to go, what to do, or where to start. Life is difficult when the last one is full of cruelty, and furthermore, he is blind, so to him, it's going to take a lot of adjustment.
After a while, when he's calmer, he just needs to start his life somewhere and get back on track. So this is a start. In the video, he appears to be a man with a fair face, long black hair tied up with a ponytail and a hairpin, and a white blindfold around his head to cover his eyes to suggest the man is blind. He's speaking into the device, his voice soft, polite and there's a subtle fragility in his manners]
Greetings, this is all very new to me. I've been told I'm a witch, so there is much to learn. Life isn't easy when I could not see and the world is dark.
My name is Xingchen. It's nice to meet you. I'm taking things one day at a time. In the meanwhile, I heard about bonds. I will need a bond soon. Being unbonded for a long time can be dangerous, I've been told. I think maybe...we can think of living arrangements. I keep bumping into things and couldn't find my keys, but finding my meals isn't difficult when I ask. It's also quiet whenever I wake up in the morning, but couldn't find my way around.
[despite everything, he sounds appreciative] I hope we can be friends if there is anyone out there.

But yes, being unbonded can become dangerous. But you should be fine for at least a month. Just... Don't wait too long.
[She finds herself fretting over him a little.]
For your keys, would making you a necklace to put your keys on will help?
no subject
[He recognized her by the sound of her voice]
Yes, I'm blind and unbounded. Lady Leanne, is that you? we met in the market the other day.
no subject
[She blinks as he seemed to remember her... But why? Why were things still so blurry and muddled in her brain. It took her a while to remember Rikku, maybe this man was the same case.]
Yes, my name is Leanne.... I... I am sorry... I don't seem to remember you. My mind is still healing.
no subject
[He doesn't have much money on him, but it's enough for basic necessities to help get him started. At her remark, he finds that strange]
You don't remember? Can you tell me what happened? Usually, my memory isn't good either, but I remember your voice.
no subject
[At his questions, she frowns a gains a worried look.]
No, but there is a lot that I don't remember. I worked?... No, kidnapped?... No, not really sure but I was told that I was kidnapped. But I don't remember much of it.
no subject
[he sounds very concerned]
I'm glad you're all right, but I'm sorry that happened. I heard about it, but there isn't anything I could do. I wasn't prepared for any at all for this.
no subject
[Ah no! He doesn't need to be concerned over her!]
It's... It's okay. I am glad that you seemed to be kept safe. I am sorry, sorry that I don't seem to remember you but if we have met before... I am sure that my memory will come back and soon.
no subject
[he doesn't need to, but he would like to. She's the first resident that spoke to him]
Take your time and heal, and take a rest and drink plenty of water.
Shall I come over tomorrow?

I've a blind friend back home, though she is... somewhat of a special case. She "sees" by using her own aether to perceive the world around her, kind of like magical echolocation. So I have to wonder if such a thing might be possible here... if not true sight, then a magically-assisted something-or-other?
no subject
[speaking about it gives him a pang of hurt, but he's listening]
That might be possible and a good suggestion. That's something I could try, experiment, and train what your friend could do. I do feel flickers of magic and working on it, focusing on different areas, but my attention feels really scattered.
no subject
[He is sweet and truly, he didn't need to get anything. She wanted to help him all those months ago and give him a moment or two to himself.]
I will... Rikku will probably give me sad eyes if I don't.
That sounds good. Ah, should I prepare anything for your arrival?
no subject
Nothing comes to mind really. If you could please give me your address. I can find my way to you if I ask for help from the coven. It may take a while, but I'll come.
no subject
[It is hard to know what to say to something like that. Doubtless it was a trade he didn't want to make, and he may have complicated feelings about it, so it may be better to leave it alone for the time being.]
Perhaps so. I am not a witch, so I cannot claim to know where to begin, but it may be worth investigating. In the meantime, perhaps having help setting your home up to be crash-proof might be a worthwhile time investment? Just until you can get your bearings.
video;
[It isn't as if he doesn't understand why people don't like it. There's a reason Mogget himself approaches it like a business contract. But the lengths some people will go to in order to avoid it are often ridiculous to him.
He realises immediately that the person he speaks to can't see him, but Mogget's voice is a strange and inhuman-sounding one. The words are wrapped around and through meows, yowls and chirps that one might expect to hear from a feline.]
I'm sure you've realised by now that there are others here.
no subject
I think I can start with the schools and see what's available and perhaps have spellbook being read out to me.
As for my home, I did have some help from the neighbors in that regard. It may take a while to get used to, to memorize the layout, but I'll do my best to get around.
video;
Greetings. I have to be realistic because I have certain needs. It's better to make it known because my blindness can be an inconvenience and hindrance to others, and that can be a disadvantage.
I can hear them and sense them if people are close-by.
no subject
[They would both need to have allowances made for the things that they are unable to do. Mogget prefers to ensure that any bonds he makes are simple. He asks for nothing and offers nothing outside of the bond itself.]
I, too, have certain disadvantages that I prefer to make clear from the outset.
no subject
I have also heard of such a thing as a touch-based form of reading and writing, but as I've never had reason to pursue it, 'tis only hearsay on my part. Perhaps it would be useful to you, though, if it exists here.
no subject
Touch based form of reading and writing you say? That's something I have to look into and research for a start.
[Even if there isn't any, magic is about creativity and invention out of necessity]
Thank you kindly. If you find anything, would you share? I'll keep searching.
no subject
[That makes Xingchen all the more curious and he wonders if this is an offer? One can hope, but if there is an incompatibility then it's fair game]
I'm curious. What kind of disadvantages?
no subject
You will find most people here are human-shaped, or at least bipedal. I am not. I'm a cat.
[Or... has the shape of a cat. It's really neither here not there for the purpose of explanation.]
no subject
I can totally understand how disadvantage that can be. How did you manage to get your necessities? Or is it something you're used to it and adapt over time?
no subject
[Not that he's implying this man takes advantage of his own blindness, but Mogget is very cute and knows how to use it to his advantage when he needs something.]
no subject
I'm quite aware. I find I get what I need quickly by simply asking nicely and it depends on who is offering.
I'm Xingchen, by the way. It's nice to meet you. What can I help you with as a cat?
no subject
[The man can't know that Mogget finding him interesting is the only reason he said anything, and that him finding someone interesting enough to approach can be a rare thing.]
And you can call me Mogget. How do you find your way around?
no subject
[with a nod]Nice to meet you, Mogget.
Oh, for that...I simply asked around who is around me and I asked nicely if they could spend a bit of their time with me to help me get to where I need to go. I'll hold their hand and they lead the way around.
no subject
[He knows the sort. Usually find them to be pushovers in his estimation, but they can show certain strengths and surprise him now and then.]
That suffices for you then. And that's a permanent arrangement for you, is it?
[That is, can he remember where he's been?]
