The Network: May, Arrivals from Distant Lands

The Watches

Everyone who arrives in an unorthodox way and eventually shows up at the Coven for 'orientation', will receive a strange, watch-like device compliments of the Coven and Parliament. Miss Nessie or one of the welcome wagon crew will give characters a run-down of how to use the various functions and they are encouraged to test them out for themselves. It would be good for them to get in touch with their fellow Mirrorbound, of course!

Fourth wall characters will not be able to make their own posts in the communities, so they may use this post to make "network posts" of their own by top-leveling. The log post is right over here.

Fourth Wall characters can comment on posts made by others in both [community profile] aefenglom and [community profile] middaeg until June 1st. Current players: Please specify in your posts if you do NOT want fourth wall characters replying!

[Easily bored and reveling in intellectual intricacy, L fits that assessment. Not only is he aware of the fact, he somewhat revels in it; for years, further complications represented small spots of color in an otherwise dismal world that consisted mostly of a computer in a padded room.]

Most people don't confess easily to selfishness. If they come close, it's usually layered in a lot of justification to make their situation seem a little more nuanced and sympathetic.

The existential horror of your situation warrants unapologetic selfishness, to be clear. In most regards; more so for the newness of it. I respect that you're upfront about it.

[the existential horror of her situation...that brings a tiny smile to Hazel's face, albeit one without mirth. it's a private joke made all the more 'amusing' for its isolation. the person she's talking to can't know, of course, but for some time now the only color in her own life had been that from out of space.]

I talk a good game, but honestly I wasn't all that fucking complicated even before I got pulled in here. Trying to pretend there's a reason for how I am aside from "natural asshole" is just going to waste everybody's time.

It's only going downhill from here anyway, right? When it starts eating at your mind and all that shit. Figured I might as well get everything squared away right at the start and play at a little efficiency.
