The Network: May, Arrivals from Distant Lands

The Network: May, Arrivals from Distant Lands

The Watches

Everyone who arrives in an unorthodox way and eventually shows up at the Coven for 'orientation', will receive a strange, watch-like device compliments of the Coven and Parliament. Miss Nessie or one of the welcome wagon crew will give characters a run-down of how to use the various functions and they are encouraged to test them out for themselves. It would be good for them to get in touch with their fellow Mirrorbound, of course!

Fourth wall characters will not be able to make their own posts in the communities, so they may use this post to make "network posts" of their own by top-leveling. The log post is right over here.

Fourth Wall characters can comment on posts made by others in both [community profile] aefenglom and [community profile] middaeg until June 1st. Current players: Please specify in your posts if you do NOT want fourth wall characters replying!

Maybe. Depends on what I remember!
Though maybe not the phylax? thing. I don't know what that is.

[ Is it even a punchline when it's as bad as that? ]

How does a buffalo say goodbye to its child?

THE PHYLAX THING... IT'S A MAGIC THING HERE. NOT FOR EVERYONE!

[Papyrus is coming from a lifetime of monsters being the ones with magic, and months of humans largely not having magic. It'll take him a while to get used to half the population having little reason to learn the details of spells here.

Similarly, he's a somewhat unwilling expert in bad jokes, thanks to exposure to Sans and Toriel. He can judge the difference between merely bad and unbearably bad. This was the former.]

AS FOR BUFFALO. DOES IT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH HORNS?

Fair. Magic is still kinda beyond me, even if I can't deny it's real.

[ That's definitely something she can relate to! There's no talking/living skeletons where she's from, either, but it's a breath of fresh air compared to BOWs and having to fight those monsters. She guesses she'd call a walking, talking skeleton a monster? Sort of olde timey though in the sense of "scary".

She's really gonna have to learn to adjust to all of this.
]

You're trying, but not quite there! It says "bison"! Ha ha. :)
spaghettimonster: (I KNOW TALKING ABOUT THIS ISN'T EASY)

WOW, THE QUALITY'S DROPPING AGAIN!!

[It isn't, not really - that joke's in the same range of mundanely awful humor as the rest. But complaints are basically applause, to people who relish telling jokes like these, and he knows how to play along. He hesitates a few seconds, about to ask for skeleton-based puns - just to see if there's any he and Sans never thought of over the years - then reconsiders.]

I'M SURE YOU'RE DYING TO TELL MORE OF THESE...
WHICH ONE'S THE WORST? YOU SHOULD JUST GET IT OUT OF THE WAY.
