Everyone who arrives in an unorthodox way and eventually shows up at the Coven for 'orientation', will receive a strange, watch-like device compliments of the Coven and Parliament. Miss Nessie or one of the welcome wagon crew will give characters a run-down of how to use the various functions and they are encouraged to test them out for themselves. It would be good for them to get in touch with their fellow Mirrorbound, of course!
Fourth wall characters will not be able to make their own posts in the communities, so they may use this post to make "network posts" of their own by top-leveling. The log post is right over here.
Fourth Wall characters can comment on posts made by others in both aefenglom and middaeg until June 1st. Current players: Please specify in your posts if you do NOT want fourth wall characters replying!
[Connor wouldn't quite agree with the interpretation normally, but given the circumstances... pointing out further specifics of his request seems unimportant.]
Thank you.
[He doesn't ask for a name; if the identity of the person mattered, he wouldn't have made his request so publicly.]
[ Naturally, he'll be able to explain at his leisure if he chooses to do so but for now, Jill's just assuming this guy is like this. With all the technological advancements in her world, she still can't imagine something more like an android. ]
[ True to her word, she arrives within fifteen minutes and with time to spare. She's still dressed the way she was when she arrived, albeit with the battlesuit zipped up. She's short, but muscular and strong looking with a grin that shows crooked teeth when she smiles just a little too widely. She sports a more light and natural smile when she knocks on the door and waits. ]
Hey, it's... shoot. [ Her voice is airy and awkward with a light chuckle in it. Her voice betrays her appearance, much softer than one might expect even when she punches some volume into it to be heard beyond the sturdy door. ] I... didn't tell you, so, ah, "j.valentine"?
[The voice that answers is undoubtedly humanlike, even if the edge of static to it reveals the owner's true nature.]
Come in.
[Connor is sitting up on one of the cots in the room, his back against the wall. Similarly, he's mostly wearing the clothes he arrived in, although his shoes have been placed aside. It was simple enough to find a new white shirt, but his jacket remains damaged with the bullet hole through the shoulder, even if the blue blood has evaporated by now. The rest of him looks as human as CyberLife could make him, aside from the slow red blink of the circular light on his temple and the deep red coloring of his eyes.
Sealed containers of blood rest on the table next to him, waiting for what he's told is the inevitable resolution to this... business. He's got sharper canines at this point, too, though they're only visible when he speaks.]
[ None of this is turning out how she expected. When she opens the door he's easy to notice since there's no one else present; the small heel of the shoes that are attached to the body suit make a sound as she walks to meet him and she finds herself surprised. No weird two-finger claw grip that she'll be holding, but apparently a hand just as well as her own.
The blood is what catches her eyes first, long before she lets her eyes meet his. The rest of his appearance is taken in quietly, subtly but perhaps noticeable to him because of his nature. She's not rude about it and she's unsure what's natural and what might be part of this... place.
She offers her hand first, although not intended in the way she'd suggested earlier. For now, it's a greeting. ]
I'm Jill. [ Her head tilts slightly when she smiles; warm, inviting. Reassuring. ] Haven't been to too many of those classes or anything, but I guess I'm a Witch so we can... I don't know, bond somehow? So this should be easier on you, right?
[ She doesn't invite herself to sit beside him, but she might if he doesn't first. ]
[Although she only says so much, it's not at all what he expected, and a mild look of surprise crosses his face; he only has so much energy left to emote properly. Similarly, he decides to refrain from lifting his own hand to preserve what he has left; a slight nod will have to do for a greeting.
First things first, he supposes.]
My name is Connor.
[He pauses for a moment, expression settling into something more serious. While it's true that he's procured a temporary bonding potion in case of emergency, the implications of bonding right now, for this situation in particular, cause him to hesitate. He doesn't want her to agree to such a thing without understanding what it would be like, at least partly.]
It's a possibility, but... it wouldn't be a pleasant experience for you.
[He wouldn't have normally expressed the idea with such certainty, but he does actually know what it's like to be mentally connected to an android when they die. It's Bad and he doesn't recommend it.]
[ Even from her voice, Jill tends to not be what's expected of her. From a distance, she has the body shape that suggests she's much taller than the barely five-five that she is. She exudes the confidence of a woman much taller and clearly either is in a position of power or gives off the vibe of it even if she isn't. Military. ]
Nice to meet you, Connor.
[ Jill makes her way to sit beside him, twisting at the waist to face him but not close enough that her body touches his. She can be a touchy-feely person, but outside of arm punches, high fives, and fist bumps she tries to keep it more selective and with consideration of another's personal space. ]
I can promise I've been through plenty unpleasant experiences. If you can guide me through it and it'll help you, we should do it. Otherwise let's get started. So, I hold your hand? [ She offers her, palm facing upward with fingers curved at the knuckles. The invitation isn't forced and pushed too close, leaving space between them. ] If you need to do this, you need to do this. Better it's over and done with, yeah?
