The Network: May, Arrivals from Distant Lands

The Watches

Everyone who arrives in an unorthodox way and eventually shows up at the Coven for 'orientation', will receive a strange, watch-like device compliments of the Coven and Parliament. Miss Nessie or one of the welcome wagon crew will give characters a run-down of how to use the various functions and they are encouraged to test them out for themselves. It would be good for them to get in touch with their fellow Mirrorbound, of course!

Fourth wall characters will not be able to make their own posts in the communities, so they may use this post to make "network posts" of their own by top-leveling. The log post is right over here.

Fourth Wall characters can comment on posts made by others in both [community profile] aefenglom and [community profile] middaeg until June 1st. Current players: Please specify in your posts if you do NOT want fourth wall characters replying!

So it would seem... I've never heard of CyberLife.

[It would have to be in his databanks somewhere. A worldwide organization wouldn't be hidden from just Japan. The information would spread somehow.]

As far as I'm aware, Hiden Intelligence was the first company to design A.I. to the standards of HumaGears. There would have been some contact with any other company that had done the same.

Similarly, I have never heard of Hiden Intelligence.

[So they're on the same page!]

But it is good to know that similar technology has been developed elsewhere. [It makes him... a tiny bit more optimistic? about what tech he might find here. Or at least, what could be created. It's strange, though, that the issue of repair and fuel has basically become a nonissue with his... imminent shutdown.

What would he prefer? Risking running out of power entirely while trying to find some alternative solutions? Or becoming something entirely unfamiliar and facing a simulacrum of death anyway, with a promise of revival he doesn't entirely trust?

Both of them are terrible, honestly.]

How have you adjusted to things here in Aefenglom?

I haven't been here long enough to sufficiently "adjust", I admit.

[Horobi is built to adjust easily, to learn from what he observes, but that has seemed more difficult here. Saying as much will only make him sound more robotic than he already does, however.]

I believe I'm a witch, but running electric currents through my body doesn't seem particularly safe.

Magic does seem too unpredictable to trust that quickly.

[It would definitely be a last resort sort of thing, if Connor had ended up being a witch instead of a monster. Not that he charges by plugging into a wall... but it sounds as if this other machine has different components.]

Have you been running low on power?
