How is death viewed in the world you come from?
[Now there's a question. Mogget pauses a moment before he continues, just to let it sink in.]
In the Old Kingdom, when one dies, their soul moves over into a different realm. There they traverse nine gates along a river until finally passing on. I understand that this isn't the norm outside of my home world.
[Not close to it, in fact.]
So, indulge me, if you would.

But I'll humour you. Is it a matter of every single method of death means a different afterlife, or simply if the death is violent, or tragic, or peaceful?

[you're a cat, you should know this.]
It depends on that and the place you die and the place the person who killed you'd from, if it applies. All those regional beliefs you get are all true but only where they originated, basically. It's a pain in the ass.

[that cult...they'd seen the old ones, and still believed that they would somehow be rewarded upon bringing them into this world. fools.]
But I mean, guess it makes sense? Statistically there have to be a few worlds that kind of match up in some way. Even if it's the annoying ways.

It does seem that there are fewer places than know what comes after death as a certainty, though people seem to find comfort in it.
