How is death viewed in the world you come from?
[Now there's a question. Mogget pauses a moment before he continues, just to let it sink in.]
In the Old Kingdom, when one dies, their soul moves over into a different realm. There they traverse nine gates along a river until finally passing on. I understand that this isn't the norm outside of my home world.
[Not close to it, in fact.]
So, indulge me, if you would.

Upon the world I speak of, ghosts and spirits are rarely more than a lingering emotions or memories imprinted upon aether which has yet to pass from the corporeal world. There are exceptions.
Do the dead in your world remain in this other realm? If they dwell there, from where does new life gain their soul? And how does this not cause stagnation in your world?
[Well someone seems to have gotten interested.]

Some have managed it. Necromancers have their methods. I don't particularly approve of them.
[The interest isn't unappreciated. Mogget does enjoy intelligent conversation.]
All things being well, a soul will pass through the nine gates and then pass on. There is no stagnation, as you put it.
