I'm bringing a small announcement from Inkchanted— Thanks to everyone's mighty help, we have successfully created a spell matrix for self-healing spells! Bigger designs get more uses, smaller ones will give you one or two shots at it. Obligatory warning, t has no effects on Cwyld, do not try to heal broken bones that have not been correctly set-up first... you get the drill.
As another thing, we are currently seeking a jeweler capable of crafting crystals into bracelets, necklaces, you take it. Crystal batteries take all forms, so creativity is a plus. My Bonded used to make them, but sadly he's no longer here.
Personally, I'm going to check the Northern Outpost, as some of the stories Wilders brought recently are most curious. Also disturbing. I'll be bringing some ink with me, so if anyone wants a healing spell painted on, just get me there. Mind it will have one use only though and is less potent than a tattoo buuuut I can handle doing that in the field.

If you need an artisan for jewelry, I'm your woman.
I don't have to charge the crystal batteries myself, do I? I'm not a Witch and I don't think I could do that even if I wanted to.

Hilda, is it? Well met. I go by Caster and I'll gladly take you up on the offer!
Do not worry about the charging aspect, we got Witches covered. We can also provide the necessary crystals unless you prefer to use your own sources—?

I'm new in town, so I'm currently source-free. I have some supplies from home, but not much, so I'll happily use whatever you can provide.
Thanks so much for the opportunity! Here I thought I'd have to find a job doing something I hate to get by.

New-in-town, huh? How new if you don't mind me asking?
no subject
[How hard can finding her own workspace be?]
Really new: just got here a couple weeks ago. Although I was one of the lucky souls to arrive on the ship last month, so really I'm new again.

How long have you been around?
no subject
Eh, me? This gonna sound wild, but I've been here for two years now.

How are you liking it? Are you still trying to get home?

What about spells for healing others? Ever consider that?
no subject
Healing yourself at its simplest is giving your own natural regeneration a significant boost; like you're speeding up time but only within your own body. Healing someone else... requires precision and knowledge. You have to know what you're doing, or you're gonna make the damage worse. Ain't no design that can grant all of that.

[Is he complaining? He is absolutely complaining.]
Fine. But I know there are other abilities you can give non-Witches. Yes?
no subject
As for your question: that's right. From wards and shields to enhancements, and even channeling the magic into spells. If you're a Monster, you're going to need a crystal battery with stored mana, though.
no subject
That's right. A dragon. Without magic. It's ridiculous. [What? Dragons had magic in his world!] That's fine. Do I get them from your shop as well? How many can you have without interfering with each other?
no subject
Tho I give you that, dragons without magic sound damn weird. Anyway— yeah, you drop by Inkchanted, tell us what kind of spells you wanna get etched, and we make a design that incorporates what you want. If that's possible, of course.
My recommendation is to start with something small, to get used to tapping into spells. If you weave several different effects as your first design, you might have trouble activating only one of them. Unless, that's the point and they are meant to fire off together— like fire resistance together with flaming fist haha.

I'll keep that in mind. I'll start with the healing spell to see how it works. I'm sure to get a use out of it out in the Wildes.

[ Oh if the text could transfer tone... ]
Now I'm curious, so indulge me if you can. Magic without limits sounds fascinating. How a world with such unlimited power function?
no subject
If you want a run-down of what I know about how magic works in my world--that I can do. It's not that complicated. Technically, anyone can use magic so long as they have materia.
Materia in the natural world is rare to come by but exists in the wild. A piece of materia can be used by anyone if they have the aptitude or patience to learn it. It's hard for some to comprehend but not impossible. There are many different types of materia that grant the user varying types of magic. But reviving the dead is one of them.
A piece of materia is a condensed form of the Lifestream of the Planet. It's an orb that contains the knowledge of the Planet and it's inhabitants. In other words, it grants the user knowledge that can be used to cast magic. Most people don't realize that's how it works. They just cast the spells. But in theory...

It can't cure a disease or poison.

SO. WITH HEALING BROKEN BONES.
HOW LONG DO THEY HAVE TO BE SET FOR?
ASKING FOR SOMEONE WHO IS ENTIRELY BONES.
(NOTE: THIS IS NOT AN EMERGENCY, IT'S ONLY A HAIRLINE FRACTURE.)
no subject
So
Uh
For you as a person made out of bone, how long does it take normally for you to heal your broken bones?
no subject
NORMALLY I WOULD SPEED IT UP WITH HEALING MAGIC.
WHICH I GUESS I CAN LEARN TO DO AGAIN!!
BUT I HAVEN'T LEARNED IT YET.
SO. WEEKS PROBABLY.
no subject
If you set it up properly you gotta hold it for around... 3 to 5 minutes? I admit we hadn't done extensive testing on those matters, people were good at not breaking their bones when testing the spells.
Maybe the spell wards off breaking the bones!!
no subject
THAT'S NOT TERRIBLE. SO I GUESS THAT SETTLES IT!
DO I NEED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT, OR ARE WALK-INS WELCOME?
YOU CAN CONSIDER ME A HELPFUL TEST SUBJECT, FOR ALL YOUR BONE HEALING STUDIES.
