Hey everybody, this is- uh, this is Hiccup. [That nasally voice sounds bright today, but like he's not entirely used to talking over these watches. It still feels like he's chatting to an inanimate object somehow, even though he knows other people will be able to hear this, because he hasn't used it much up to this date.] I think I'm starting to get used to being here, sort of. It's been an adjustment. And, you know, everything seems fine a lot of the time, but I'm sure we've all figured out from those dreams by now that- that this world is dangerous, too.
So, uh, I wanted to make an offer. I'm a blacksmith back home, and I finally finished setting up my forge. It's- you know, it's not fancy, but it's good enough to start working in. If anybody wants to bring scrap metal by, I'd be happy to make things out of it for you, no charge. Well, no charge unless I have to buy other materials. Weapons, armor, household objects, just about anything. I know a few things about leatherworking and general construction, too, and I can fireproof anything you'd like, but I have to charge for that because of what it involves.
And, hey, if any other smiths or crafters want to come by and borrow the space, that's great too.
My forge is right next to Keith's and my house just past the slums, barely into the woods, we call it Wilder's Edge- or, I call it Wilder's Edge, he wanted to just call it "Keith's and Hiccup's shack in the woods" but that's way too long to put on a map- [Can you hear the excessive hand gesturing in this speech?] -but anyway! If you don't want to come out this far by yourself, I can pick you up from the city, it's not a problem!

[ Thankfully Hiccup was rather generous with what money he was making from Toothless' scales, which made Keith all the more keen to do whatever work, offer whatever help he could to Hiccup's endeavours. Not that he needed the other's charity either, but- well, it was nice not to have to really worry about anything. ]
You know that means the next thing we'll have on our doorstep is a small army of pissed off blacksmiths mad at you for undercutting their profits. [ Keith said mildly, before shaking his head and laughing. ] Although to that I say bring it on.

[So really, what does he know about currency? He's still figuring things out.
He laughs and waves a hand.] Nah, that won't happen! Then their easy supply of dragon scale stops.

[ He's gotten better about the whole... sharing thing since joining Voltron; the teamwork aspect. But sometimes he still plays at the lone wolf, can't quite help it. Old habits died hard, after all. ]
Maybe. Or they'll just take the dragon. [ But of course, none of them would ever let that happen. ] Though they'll lose a couple of limbs if they ever try.

Hiccup laughs and shakes his head at the thought of anybody here trying to dragon-nap Toothless.] They can try! He let this- [He lifts his bad leg, shakes it pointedly.] -happen to me, and he likes me. Isn't that right, bud? [He raises his voice on the last sentence to call out across the grass, where Toothless is stalking small prey. He just looks up, momentarily confused, then frowns, snorts, and goes back to his stalking. Hiccup just laughs harder.]

Glancing towards where Hiccup called out to Toothless, Keith's own laughter became stronger, firmer. Grin bright as he moved into the forge to clap a hand on the other's shoulder, rolling his eyes as he grinned. ]
Remind me to sleep with one eye open, I don't want him to take one of my limbs in my sleep. [ He grinned, shaking his head as his hand dropped away. ]

[He snorts, elbowing Keith lightly. It's nice to have someone you're comfortable with to this level of familiar touches.] It's not actually his fault. He's never eaten any viking limbs. As far as I'm aware.
