alright so i think i got the day-to-day thing down. [he says as though he has a job or is a productive member of society at all-] and now I got some questions for people who've been here longer than me.

magic people: what's up with the witch thing? i saw they do classes, do you guys just go study magic all day? what kinda magic are you doing.

monster people: so what bullshit have you been turning into so far? i'm hoping i get something cool and don't end up like that poor asshole with no legs last week.

yeah. and shoes are expensive too. it'd be a pain all around.

If I had ten legs I'd go barefoot. There's limits to the amount I'm willing to spend on shoes.

I guess it depends. I mean, if you're a snake you probably have to bite. But if someone bit you, how would you react? Wouldn't it be pretty...surprising? It seems like less effort for more reward with a poisonous bite.

yeah but then your feet'd get all nasty, and you'd have so many of em.

if some asshole bit me, their face'd be close enough to trash. i guess fangs make a difference. humans dont really got good teeth for biting things. but yeah i guess it'd be a surprise.

then again a lotta snakes dont have poison right?

Yeah, that's true. There's a lot who aren't dangerous in that way.

But I'll be honest, fangs are considerably more dangerous and terrifying in my opinion. There's few things scarier than a towering lion with a mouth full of teeth that could rip you apart. But again, biting. It's always about biting.

guess it is, if everyone is some kinda animal. thats gotta be kinda crazy to deal with. can't say i've ever dealt with a real lion, we don't really got those in japan. the monsters that looked like 'em usually went down the same as the others.

I'm in favor of working with what you have. I wouldn't really want to get smaller, though. I don't even know if that can happen.

I knew a few personally that were friends.

not a bad way of looking at things i guess. and yeah it would suck to get smaller but i'm sure there'd be uses for it. i dunno if that can happen though. like what would happen to the part of you that didnt exist anymore?

yeah. they weren't like the monsters here. its kinda hard to explain 'em, but they only existed some of the time and would eat peoples consciousness or whatever. so people who got attacked just sorta lay comatose til they like die or exposure or get hit by a car. me and the team I was on would fight 'em.

Kind of defeats the purpose of a monster, huh. I don't know what I'd do, personally.

So people would just lay comatose and they just...let them die of exposure? That sounds...well, awful.

i mean a lotta them would get taken in but there was a hell of a lot of them, especially around the full moons when the Shadows'd get real active. some of them would come outta it when we beat a big one, but not every time. worst thing is they can't even see 'em so most people had no idea what was causing it.

yeah it was a huge pain. tripping over babbling idiots everywhere you go.

That's really messed up, and I can't even imagine the mess. Your world sounds pretty dangerous. I feel like people who get out alive would be lucky.

i mean, it's just pretty normal for the most part. it's just because of that weird time-rip that it gets kinda dangerous sometimes, and most people'd be safe and trapped away from it. i dunno how it all works though because yeah peoples clearly get snacked on anyway even with us fighting them.

sounds less dangerous than dealing with lions

Sounds lovely. Getting snacked on like that, I mean.

Lions aren't so dangerous when they're on your side. And I was their boss, so they were no harm to me. I think I was safest with them.

i guess when its your own world you just kinda get used to it. i think it all got fixed sometime later, though. at least that's what the teammates said.

yeah but its when they aint on your side they're a problem. pretty cool you ended up the boss of them though. like did they work for you or what?

Well, that's good, then.

Yeah. They did what I said, protected me, things like that. It worked for everyone and I made them look good because I wasn't a carnivore.

y'know, that sounds pretty badass, really. How'd you end up with that as a job?

I took it for myself after their last boss died.
