[Steven appears on camera, looking nervous but determined, like he's just stumbled upon something that he feels the need to tell everyone right now. So, here he is! Steven is very obviously a fae, complete with antennae and slightly too large, pink irises. Behind him, wings will occasionally flutter with agitation.]

Hey guys, Steven here! So - I told Nessie and Mhairi about that whole... dream... thing... we just had...

And it turns out neither of them had any idea that Dorchacht was doing things like that?? Nessie made it sound like their leader, Morgana, just seemed kind of racist at Coven meetings... not that they were enslaving an entire city's worth of monsters?

So... I think this is going to be a pretty big deal. They said they were going to get in contact with the Parliament about it, to see what they could do next. It didn't sound like they were okay with just letting them keep doing those things so, um... phew!

Aaaanyway... I thought you might want to know. I know I've been thinking about it a lot. Haha.

[He signs off, awkwardly.]

[OOC: This isn't massively relevant to this post, but Steven is currently wearing earrings that are charmed to tell him what the truth is when someone knowingly lies to him. So, if your character does that in the post, the earrings will probably tell him. Magic~!]

That's a good idea, actually. I remember... there was something, a rune? It seemed like it got rid of the spell, at least for a little bit.

[A more permanent counter would probably be ideal, but Yuya didn't find much on that--and he's not sure he would have understood it enough to be helpful, anyway.]

Since it was a dream, we could try and push things a little further and know we'd be okay, right? I wish I'd learned more while I was there.

[He got distracted saving mirrorbound monsters left and right, honestly.]

I was helping someone put those on collars for a while... but I dunno if anything we did in there really made a difference.

[Yuya's continued pleasant demeanor seems to be warming Steven up a bit. It seems less and less plausible that he's faking just to be polite, which means Steven can feel a little bit less ashamed.]

Whenever we end up in a dream I just try to focus on learning things. Even if we can't change anything for dream people, we can work on ways to do it in real life. I used to have dreams back home that were like that.

I couldn't change the memories but I could change what I did with them.

Or really: Yuya is also too awkward to talk around the whole 'got murdered trying to save you' thing. He might've traumatized Steven worse with that, hm.]

Really? Were they just memories or did you see things happening right now, too?

Just memories my mom had... because she's part of my body...

[He falls silent for a few moments, eerily contemplative.]

... Your mom is part of your body?

Well, actually, I guess she doesn't exist at all anymore, because she turned into half of me. I just kept a few of her memories.

[He's dead serious.]

[He doesn't understand and he's a little afraid to ask.]

I think we probably didn't become part of someone else. [He's had enough identities, thanks.]

Well, I didn't say it was the same thing.

It's just... something I've experienced before. I used to be able to visit people's dreams normally, too... but I can't do any of that stuff, since I got here.

... Yeah, I guess there's things I can't do since I got here, either. [It's kind of weird--weirder than gaining magic abilities, but maybe not as weird as suddenly turning into a monster.]

If they don't know why we're coming here, they probably don't know why we're changing either, right?

No... but it might just be because that's what the people are like, here. Monster and witches live here, so if you come here you have to be a monster or a witch.

I just... really wish I knew why we have to be here at all.

[Yuya's not sure he likes the idea that cosmic reality will twist you to fit the mold on purpose any better than "the spell that brought us here did it". He wants to go home...]
