Good evening. My name is Percival Fredrickstein von Musel Klossowski de Rolo III. Call me Percy. I have...well, I suppose it's half a question and half an offer, really.

I'm something of a tinkerer, you could say, and I'm wondering what sorts of things people might find helpful here. It's been made abundantly clear to me that I can't make assumptions based on what I'm used to back home, so. I open it to the world at large. I specialize somewhat in metalwork, so that's a start. I'm no swordsmith, but armor, arrows, [ there's the slightest pause before he makes himself continue ] guns, explosives. Anything with black powder. I've also a fair bit of experience with clockworks and other machinery, on the less dangerous end of things. Enchantments as well, though I'd hardly call myself an expert at it. Just enough to know what I'm doing.

The offer part is that if you do have a suggestion, I'm willing to have a go at it, free of charge. Even if it's something I've not heard of. I wouldn't mind stretching my skills a bit, to be honest.

[ The smile he's been wearing takes on a very slightly strained edge. Genuinely interested in trying new things? Yes. Attempting to keep himself too busy to think much about what happened over the full moon? Also yes. ]

It's strictly for self-defence. I don't have fangs or claws or magic to defend myself with, for the most part.

[He has water magic, but it's not like he could compete against a Witch with it. He has fangs and claws in the water, but he's usually on land. Even his siren song only works when he's wet. And as skilled as he is at fighting humans... he's not against just humans anymore.]

What type of armor would you suggest for those who are not trained to wear it? I may have two jobs for you, if you are willing to pursue something larger than one set.

Light. Armor can be surprisingly difficult to move with, if you aren't used to it. Something leather perhaps, studded if you wanted a bit more protection.

Could you make something that could be worn under formal wear? [ Look... she wants to be sneaky. ] Perhaps I shall be transparent...

I wish for something to protect myself from any potential harm. I have a Queensguard, but we find ourselves separated often. His concern for me... does weigh on me more than I'd like now. I wish to put his mind at ease, to have some sort of protection if anything similar to the chaos we just went through occurs again.

[ And!!! ]

And a breastplate of heavy steel, if possible for him. His is worn, decorated with the symbol of a house he is reluctant to return to. Having an option for something better would also put me in your debt greatly.

Are you good at making something the size of a pistol? Or are you thinking something more like a shotgun? I am looking to get two handguns and the bullets for them. I'm glad to purchase.

Pistols I can do. Shotguns I have less experience with [ in that he's seen one, once ] but I've made rifles as well.

What sort of a pistol?

I prefer pistols. I used a Glock 19 at home.

If you do get any interest in swords or axes, or shields, you can send them my way. [Hiccup still feels that the Mirrorbound should have ways to defend themselves and each other - not from Aefenglom, but should anything like Dorchacht happen again. That's basically what he's dedicated his forge to, besides his own little projects.]

I'd still love to see some of your machinery work some day.

And perhaps you will, if I can think of anything worth making. I can't imagine there'd be much need for clocks around here.

How short a list is it? [He laughs.] I know there are a couple of people besides us that do metalwork, but not that many.

Well, I don't think there has to be a need for something to make it worth building. Maybe the refugees from Dorchacht would like having clocks. It seems like one of those things you don't think about not having when you're moving in somewhere new.

Have you ever worked with metal limbs? Do you know how to incorporate magic to power machinery?

I have done, yes. Haven't tried it with magic before, but I'm willing to try it work it out. What did you have in mind?

I don't know what a safety vest is, but otherwise it sounds workable.
