[ His video is set up so he can clearly show his entire face on the network as he talks. The camera seems steady, and he is leaning forward, propping his chin on the palm of his hand as he talks. His expression seems almost annoyed, though not serious. ]

Everyone has seemed rather upset. I guess for good reasons. Mostly, at least.

[ There's the slightest pause, as if he's trying to figure out the best way to explain it. ]

But, with that, I think we need to start looking forward, and I feel like an overdue distraction might be the best way for us to take the first step.

[ He closes his eyes, and tilts his head slightly. ]

A party. Something fun where people can dress nice. Something like a masquerade, I guess. Or a formal party of sorts. I guess it would depend on what others are interested in or what the participation will be.

If I see interest, then I don't mind starting to put stuff together.

Maybe it would be a good time to make amends if you hurt anyone. We could use an unoccupied larger house.

But, I wouldn't want to do it alone, so there is also that.

[It's several minutes before Papyrus responds, having taken enough time to get into his most formal attire.]

All that talk of holidays got to you, huh?

That's a great idea! A fancy outfit party... Secret and exclusive to the 'mirrorbound'... That'll bring everyone together.

Is this formal enough? Should I go stuffier?

[He spins to demonstrate. The suit and top hat are typical of the city's attire, but secondhand and not quite a perfect fit - most clothes aren't designed with a skeleton turnskin in mind.]

More the recent events than the actual talk. I've seen a bit of sadness, too.

[ There's a small laugh at Papyrus modeling for him. ]

That's formal enough to me, I think. I want people to have fun dressing up.

So you wouldn't say no to semi-formal costumes...

[He has a notion in mind, but the execution might take some doing. A thought to scheme later.]

But, I know what you mean. A lot of sad, scary things happened to us, all in a row... And the festivals are Aefenglom's thing.

[He isn't sure he'd want them all to go haring out into the wilderness to found their own town, or anything, but Daenerys had some points.]

I wouldn't say no to a semi-formal costume. Or any costume if people were so inclined.

[ How bad could it possibly be. ]

Yes. Things have been a bit... well, they've been a lot for everyone.

[Louis has met Papyrus, right?

And plenty of the other Mirrorbound are likely to have ridiculous notions of their own, if they get going.]

Well... I can be a lot, too. A lot of help, that is!

[ He thinks you're hilarious, Papyrus. ]

Well, maybe. I wager a different type of a lot than this place can be.

[ Raises a brow. Do you want to go down this path, Louis? Yes. ]

[He does stand out in this place, and only sometimes in a good way.]

But yes! I can cook a lot! Or... I can cook a lot, of a few things. I'm still learning.

[He doesn't want to completely mislead anyone, here.]

I'm very practiced in certain specialties.

[Those who attended Steven's speed dating have sampled his cuisine. He's come a long way from inedible spaghetti, at least. Not a single house has burned down in Aefenglom, either.]

[ It's good to stand out, in Louis' opinion. So he doesn't mind. ]

What specialties? Maybe you should bring something, if you would like> All I'm asking is for people to bring themselves, everything else is bonus.

[In Papyrus' opinion, too, which is part of why he's so loud about it. And everything. Often.]

All sorts of pastries. Especially the pie ones.

And bringing myself is easy! Almost too easy. I'm happy to bring myself and food.

Parties are better with food. Then nobody leaves to go get dinner... Unless they're very particular.

Pies? [ Color him impressed. He's never been much of a cook or baker on his own, though. ]

Yes, it is. I don't want anyone to feel pressured, but if you bring food, that's a bonus. People like to have food at parties. [ It tends to help with the alcohol consumption. ]

[Pies indeed, but they're less a sign of overall competence than of an early specialty. His most recent teacher pushed him towards them first, mainly so she could hassle him with pap-pie-rus puns.]

Consider my cooking offer entirely pressure-free. The cherry on top of the gift of my pressence!
