Although it has been a week since the holiday has passed, I would like to thank the anonymous benefactor who gifted me a lovely bouquet for Modranicht. The summer blossoms are still bright and strong despite the frigid weather. The spirit they show is nothing short of inspiring.

If you wish to step forward, I would like to share a cup of tea with you and thank you personally. If you prefer your anonymity, I wholly understand.

You've brightened the wintry gloom with your passion.

If that was their intent, then they clearly spent a lot of time planning their move. It was quite touching to recive a gift from an unknown stranger.

That I cannot answer, as I have only been here for a short while. However, given what others have said about receiving strangely pertinent gifts from a similar anonymous benefactor, it would not be a far cry to guess that this person is someone with a big heart who delights in showering others with little gestures to warm their hearts.

Typically in Fodlan-- the land I hail from-- you would leave your name on a gift you were giving away unless it was intended to be a surprise. That may be the case elsewhere, but it would be foolish to make assumptions.

So it would seem, although in my experiences in my homeland, gifts are given to those with whom you have met or share a connection with. Anonymous gifts like this one are a rarity, which piques my interest in who our mysterious benefactor actually is.

It is a gesture of goodwill during a holiday amongst strangers. While it is a little strange, I see nothing suspicious about such a gesture.

If a person accepts an invitation to tea, then they can hardly be as rude or uncouth as you seem to suspect. Sitting with strangers does have it's risks-- but so much can also be learned.

Thank you for your concern, but fear not. Even if danger arises, I am quite able to take care of myself.

That may be so, but it is also quite nice learning that others in this city have had similar experiences. Even if our benefactor wishes to remain anonymous, I merely wanted them to know that their work was appreciated.

And to answer your question, yes. I learned that our benefactor is a young woman I met last month, named Marie.

In this instance, it isn't a cause for alarm. That seems to be a key feature of this holiday.

To explain, a holiday is a day of significance to a group of people that isn't necessarily connected to anyone among them like birthdays, weddings, or funerals. People like to be among each other for a variety of reasons, and sometimes I feel that events can turn into regular holidays because they provide an easy excuse to get together .
