Name: Lorenz Hellman Gloucester (un: LHG)
Date: 1/1, afternoon
Format: Text
To Whom It May Concern:
Although it has been a week since the holiday has passed, I would like to thank the anonymous benefactor who gifted me a lovely bouquet for Modranicht. The summer blossoms are still bright and strong despite the frigid weather. The spirit they show is nothing short of inspiring.
If you wish to step forward, I would like to share a cup of tea with you and thank you personally. If you prefer your anonymity, I wholly understand.
You've brightened the wintry gloom with your passion.
Thank you.
To Others Interested:
If you are in need of company or an ear that will listen, I will gladly share tea with you as well. Please send a note and we can make arrangements.
-LHG.

it was kind of weird having someone give me dead plants

They clearly have not enjoyed many conversations with you. Flowers are certainly not the way to go!

seems weird

It is a gesture of goodwill during a holiday amongst strangers. While it is a little strange, I see nothing suspicious about such a gesture.

no one gets something for nothing

[ Oddly enough, the lilies were quite tasty. Not that he'll ever mention that. ]

I don't get why they'd do this, with a note wanting to be friends or something, and not say who they were.
no subject
I know not their reasons, but that is one of the ones I would have if I were to do such a thing.

[ She almost feels weird bringing it up when this person seems so blasé about it. She's not the weird one here for thinking this, right? (You may be, Asahi.) ]
what if you end up having tea with a total jerk? it'd just ruin the whole atmosphere

Please, my dear.
If a person accepts an invitation to tea, then they can hardly be as rude or uncouth as you seem to suspect. Sitting with strangers does have it's risks-- but so much can also be learned.
Thank you for your concern, but fear not. Even if danger arises, I am quite able to take care of myself.

I am glad to hear that you liked the gift, Lorenz! These flowers reminded me of you so it was an obvious gift choice, I am happy to hear that it was well received! I would also gladly have tea with you whenever it is convenient

It warms my heart to learn that the anonymous gift giver was you. Though we only met the one time, clearly your intuition is refined enough to grasp my personal aesthetic tastes.
Tea would be lovely. I have open availability any afternoon you wish.

That would be lovely, and I find myself looking forward to the day when we can meet once more. Is there anything you wish for me to bring in return? A particular tart or scone, perhaps?

You as well? Is it tradition to not leave a name on gifts here?
no subject
Typically in Fodlan-- the land I hail from-- you would leave your name on a gift you were giving away unless it was intended to be a surprise. That may be the case elsewhere, but it would be foolish to make assumptions.

[ Or, at least, that's how Steak has always experienced it. But more to the point— ]
Did you find out who it was?
no subject
People in Fodlan are very much the same. This is an interesting deviation from the standard, is it not?
And to answer your question, yes. I learned that our benefactor is a young woman I met last month, named Marie.
