It's been three days and we have no results. We have no location of those to recover. This is the furthest thing from acceptable circumstances.

The Coven and Guard have a list of who's gone, but there's more to be done. Names, locations that are being searched, information that we've collectively found. It should not need explaining that the faster we work as a group the faster this will all end and we'll understand who tried to strike in our midst. Start talking to each other, and we're going to solve this.

For my part, I've been searching through the Harbor District, and found out some information. Some aristocrats bought suppression tools and obscure magical implements in large quantities under the table. They paid a princely sum, enough to buy off transport and convince morals to bend. The work was conducted for a Ms. Terra Ohm - whether that's a real name or not remains to be seen.

Given the nature of the tools at hand, it's fair to start making assumptions. And if anyone's heard of this person or knows where she lives, we can work from there.

I just cannot understand... why would anyone do something like this? They did not hurt anyone, they were just living their everyday lives like anyone else...

Because we are outsiders. Because we are not one of them. That is all the justification they need to enact their deeds. We are a threat to what they see as the way of the world.

But we are not a threat! The Mirrorbound and refugees are working hard trying to make the city our new home. We want it to flourish just as much as the natives. Shy won’t they understand?

It is the nature of society that the other be viewed with suspicion at best, violence at worst. It is written across the face of history time and again. If that is incomprehensible to you, you have my deepest condolences.

Is it distinctive in style?

it's really well-made. gold plated at minimum. it's got an engraving but it's small, and i'm not sure if it's a maker's signature or the owner's.

i don't know many of the jewelry and watchmakers in town, but i'd guess it was expensive.

If it has a mark, it can be traced. Higher end watchmakers keep lists of their clients, and if someone properly dressed comes in, claiming it was lost and trying to find the owner, they might be willing to give an address or a name. Though you'll need to think of a good way to explain how it got in your possession, if you want to move out covertly instead of claiming an investigation.

One of the madams in the Entertainment District told us a bunch of rich guys that go to her club were saying scary stuff about 'fixing' things with the Mirrorbound and Monsters and everyone here from Dorchacht...

They gave us a list of their names, but nobody we've talked to has seen any of them for days and days! U●︿●U

[Please find attached a picture of the handwritten list of potential persons of interest from the Eastern Residential District/Entertainment District team's search. All but one or two are checked off, for whether their residence has been investigated.]

But one of them had this paper with an address in the Haven on it, and it was one of the spots that the fires started at...

So we can say for certain that all of those names are complicit in the affair. They've been gone for days, our people have been gone for days. It matches up. In their absence, they've destroyed any hope of an alibi.

Furthest thing from acceptable might be an understatement. This is the sort of thing that individuals hang for.

It seems it was not only a conspiracy to commit kidnapping, but something supported by a large number, and involving accomplices from without.

We could start by checking with vendors with the likely capability to have that kind of inventory, perhaps?

What are we asking the vendors? To find out their usual range of distribution, or to inquire if they know Terra Ohm?

[if they were smart enough to get their supplies from an easily swayed sailor, they likely wouldn't leave tracks above.]

To find out the range of their wares, yes. If we can narrow down the vendor, we can perhaps follow the paper trail. Merchants tend to keep records of large purchases, and for large sums of money banks are usually involved.

I've been in business long enough to say that a order full of misgivings like this would almost certainly be off the books, likely paid in cash. The way the sailors I spoke to in the Harbor District referred to it, the money's already dispersed in payment on a boat.

I only know of such things from a government perspective, so I will cede to your expertise there.

That said, given the nature of such things, checking on which merchants could have filled the order might still turn up some leads. They can likely be persuaded, after all.

I noticed there were some very well-made handkerchiefs around the housing for refugees. Some were more charred than others- I imagine our culprits meant them to burn away. I'm certain these were deliberately lit, before you ask- there were matches, and furniture moved oddly in some places. In any case- it does rather seem as though we're looking towards those with money.
