She sings! She dances! She can help you pay your taxes!
Name: un: Taru
Date: Feb 13th
Format: Video
[When the feed connects there's nothing to be seen other than a standard sized, wooden chair in the middle of a meagerly furnished dorm room. Soon however a rather petite figure comes into view, one with a cute face and rather large, pointy ears. She can't be more than three feet tall by the looks of it and once she's clambered atop the chair she's left standing on it, only to thrust her arms dramatically in the air for a big wave, a high pitched voice following the action.]
Hullo! I'm Tataru Taru but just Tataru will do. Twenty one summers old and at your service!
[That's right, she's just fun sized. Her arms drop to her sides as she continues.]
Now I know I haven't been here for very long, but I realized rather quickly that not many here have heard of Lalafell. No I am not a Fae, nor am I anything but a fully grown lady - we Lalafell are simply a small, youthful race - and quite successful might I add, especially when it comes to trade and magic.
[She gestures to herself, pointing to her chest.]
So, for those curious Monsters and Witches out there, not only am I a Lalafell lady but I'm almost a whole Yalm in height. Quite tall!
[And she's proud of it too. Now that that's out of the way...it's time for The Hustle.]
Anyroad, since I've to make a home for myself here and have only found part time work...I wanted to offer my services! Surly tax season is creeping up on everyone, yes? Keeping track of finances and spending, either business or personal, is my specialty! I'm also a very skilled seamstress. If there's something you need made I can sew it! Cooking? Cleaning? Mining? Juggling? Entertainment in the form of song and dance? I can do it all!
If you've any questions don't be shy! Send me a message or come say hello when I'm working at Precogstitchin' or The Sly Seadog! Hope to hear from you all!
[With a smile and big wave she's hopping off the chair, only for the feed to cease a moment later.]

[But that comment has him pause, looking thoughtful. Though his first impulse is to casually and lightly agree, after everything that's happened lately, being rescued, healed... it was a lot to face, and he still didn't know what to do with it.]
...Yes, I suppose you could say that. 'Tis quite an unusual experience, being looked after, perhaps even fussed over.
[Though light, there's a touch of melancholy there.]

Most people can benefit from having someone fuss over them from time to time. It means they're thinking of you and keeping you in their thoughts. So even if it may be annoying at times I think ultimately it's something good to have. There's nothing more lonely than being unknown and having no one to think of you at all.
[BUT this is kind of veering into Sad Topic Territory so time to turn it around a little, yeah?]
I hope you're aware that there is a possibility I may end up fussing over you. I'm well known for my fussing.

[It's not exactly difficult to depress the Ascian, since that's his default state, but good job Tataru, anyway.
But this wasn't the place, nor time, nor person for that. Though he sighs, he presses on after a moment.]
And really...? I'm not sure how much more fussing I can take, I assume a certain stamina for it needs to be built. But 'tis no wonder the Scions have persisted for as long as they have, if they've had you to look out for them.
no subject
You'll find my brand of fussing a little bit different, perhaps.
[She might be the Mom Friend but she can also be the friend that drags your ass over hot coals if you're being an idiot.]
Either way, it's good to be fussed over. I'm glad you've people to do so.
[Tataru, for the most part, has been left to her own devices. Not that she doesn't have people here that would look out for her if the occasion to arose.]
no subject
[Or be generally bewildered by it. Not that he doesn't deserve to be told off occasionally. More than occasionally.]
And who fusses over you?
[Don't expect him to do it. He doesn't dislike you, Tataru, but he doesn't care either.]
no subject
[That's...actually a good question. He can see the realization slowly dawning on her face in real-time too. If he means here, in this world, well...it's slim pickings, isn't it? That's not to say Thancred or Urianger wouldn't help her if she needed it or asked something of them, but they weren't really the "fussing" sort. (Not in the way she's thinking anyway). If anyone did back home it had been Minfilia or Y'shtola.
Neither of which is here. Ah. Ahh...
There's a sudden forlorn look that tries to grip her but she shakes it off quite literally as she tosses her head from side to side. Nope, nope. This isn't the time to get down about things.]
I'll be fine here, if that's what you're asking.
no subject
And while he still didn't care, it was a mark against them, if so. He expected better from heroic sorts.]
Fine is one thing... but as you just informed me, it's good to be fussed over. To be reminded that someone is thinking of you? To the point of going out of their way for your sake?
[It's always time to be down about things, Tataru. Always.]
I admit I'm disappointed to learn this of our friends. I thought better of them.
no subject
N-Now wait just a minute! It isn't fair to judge them so quickly.
[Especially considering how weird and uncomfortable the whole there are four Warriors of Light thing has been.]
If you're speaking of the Warriors...I don't expect them to fuss. It wouldn't be right to expect them to when I've only become acquainted with them. Even if they are familiar with me I know little of them. I do feel bad for it but it's a matter of making new memories together.
[She figures they're doing their best to ease her into it all, considering it's something Tataru doesn't exactly like thinking about since the logistics keep her up at night if she does.]
As for the Scions, they think of me. Urianger and Thancred are good men. If I ask of them a favour they'll gladly assist me.
[She just, y'know, doesn't want to worry either of them. At all. They don't need the added stress, especially Urianger who's just as new to all of this as she is.]
no subject
If you insist... though for all that you're not familiar with them, they are all quite acquainted with you. Surely that warrants a little bit of looking after, even if they're trying to not overwhelm.
[Four versions of the same person was a bit strange, he'd have to admit. And why was it only them? If there were alternate worlds that was one thing, but why was one person the only apparent difference between them...?]
And good, decent people they are... but they've never struck me as the most thoughtful. And sometimes it's nice to not have to ask for a favor- because someone's already noticed your need of one.
[Not that that ever happens; people were unreliable and you were on your own.]
no subject
Don't eat her, by the by. You'll end up with indigestion, Emet-Selch.]
It is nice, I'll admit, but to expect or demand it from others is a recipe for disappointment.
[It's better to be pleasantly surprised by a person's thoughtfulness rather than expecting it outright from them.]
no subject
How realistic... and unfortunate. Well, I can hardly blame you for your pragmatism. I fear I still have a bit of idealism left in me- or my standards are too high.
[They were very high. When you set the world up to fail you, you get to feel justified in causing all those Calamities.]
no subject
[In people, in the world - anything. If one didn't keep themselves firmly rooted in reality then things could go awry.]
You can only hope to expect from people what you're willing to give.
