Hi everyone. I'm looking for some information or whatever. I guess it's mostly directed at witches, but I know some monsters were mages back home too and I'm not going to turn away any input.

Anyway, how do you do magic? Like, using runes or chanting spells or waving your hands around or anything else. The focus or whatever, the thing you do to make the magic happen. What is it? And how did you pick it?

I've tried about a billion different things and nothing is clicking, I need some ideas.

i guess it's kind of like. hm. it's a little hard to explain the concept since i don't think i know all the right terms. it's sort of like, the runes are the instructions? to shape the spell and direct it to do what you're wanting. and then you charge them with magic, which is the power to activate the spell.

oh fire magic! that was the first thing i learned too. i set a banner on fire my first week here though.

Don't worry about it, it isn't like I know the proper terms either. That makes a lot of sense, anyway. Layman's terms, I guess? So the runes are a set of instructions for what the magic is supposed to do, and then you sorta light the magic fuse. Hah. That, I understand.

Nice. I haven't lit much of anything on fire, except my eyebrows, almost. I'm working on it though.

So they're kind of like animal dragons, not people dragons? That makes sense.

yeah, something like that! that's how i've been doing enchantments anyway. most of them work pretty well as long as the instructions don't contradict each other.

who needs eyebrows, right? haha

oh yeah no, they're not people-dragons like here. a lot of them are really smart, but not like that.

[So far, this makes the most sense out of any of them. Probably because it's the only one he could translate into demolition terms...]

Huh. Well, I'll definitely give that a try. Here's hoping I can learn the whole rune language thing.

I mean, I'd rather have eyebrows than not but it's better than lighting my hair on fire, or my face or something.

That's cool though. All the creatures we have back home other than garden variety sheep and cats and stuff are awful infected monsters.
