Hey.

[That’s it. One word. Dylas’ voice is low, like usual, but there’s something unsteady about it. Maybe it’s nerves from using the pocketwatch, a device he’s still not used to, or...well.]

I know people have been...changing. It’s, uh. Not great. But...do the changes hurt for anyone else? There’s this spot on... my friend’s arm that’s all grey, and it hasn’t stopped hurting ever since it showed up. Does anyone else have that?

I’m asking for my friend.

[He’s not asking for a friend.]

[OOC; Dylas is infected by the Cwyld after an encounter with some Shades. He’s been hiding it under his clothes, but now his arm is hurting real bad.]

Oh. It's you. Hey.

[You know, I'm possibly dying, but you were alright, so hi.]

I'd, uh...you know, I'm asking for a friend. He doesn't want to a waste his time talking to them.

[That's even more worrying, Dylas. He pauses, because that definitely isn't just for a friend, but he doesn't want to spook him.]

Well, it doesn't hurt just to check with the Coven. I'm sure they would have a lot more information on transformations than the rest of us. Do you want me to go with you?

[To make sure he really gets it looked at.]

I can keep your friend company.

[In Dylas' head, he's absolutely convinced Clark is falling for the 'my friend' bit. The poor guy. So nice. Too nice. A real sucker.]

My friend says it's not that serious. Talking with the Coven would just be making a mountain out of a molehill.

[It's a nice offer, though.]

He says...thanks, too.

[He knows it isn't that easy -- It can't be. Not with all of the trouble they've already heard about. But he can't force Dylas to go. Being too stern would only make him dislike the idea more. And what if it really is nothing?]

I don't mind going along. Maybe we could ask them a few questions. I'm sure there are things your friend would probably like to know about the area. Maybe when the last time they had visitors was.

[Yup, that is totally an excuse.]

If you're sure he's okay, though, I guess I'll just go by myself. While I'm out, maybe I can bring you something to eat.

[In other words, check up on him.]

[If Dylas does go to see the Coven, he's going to have to bring Konoe with him, not Clark. Konoe is the one who was there when he was scratched, so it feels more right to bring him along...

So, hearing that second offer, Dylas latches onto that. Yeah. That way, he doesn't have to refuse, and maybe that'll appease the other man, too.]

Yeah! Yeah—why don't you come over? That'd be fine with me. It sounds like I'm...my friend is going no matter what, so that's fine. I won't stop you.

[He's relieved when Dylas at least agrees to let him come at least check in on him. Part of him feels guilty about not being straightforward about his intention to do that, but since Dylas doesn't want to be open about his issue, Clark can't expose him. In the end, it is Dylas's choice and Clark can only hope he knows what he's doing and trust him. But he'll at least check up to make sure he's okay.]

Thanks, Dylas. I'm sure you're busy taking care of your friend, so I'm glad you don't mind me visiting.

You don't have to thank me for letting you visit. Geez.

[Dylas isn't sure how to respond to such praise???]

[ He's going to keep being polite. After all, Dylas didn't have to let him visit if he's feeling sick. Clark just can't help worrying that it might really be serious. ]

I like to eat fish. Vegetables are fine, too. Nothing sweet.

[Dylas definitely sounds a little bossy there, and he manages to catch it in time. He tries to make up for it.]

[It's probably a good thing Dylas can't see him smile at that short order. It probably wouldn't be very helpful, but he's glad that Dylas at least sounds like he has some energy in him.]

I think I can manage that. I'd like to try something new while we're here. I doubt that they'll have too much from my world anyway.
