HELLO MIRRORBOUND, NEW AND OLD!
IT IS I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS.
THE ONE AND ONLY TURNBONE EXTRAORDINAIRE!!
(BY WHICH I MEAN, I'M A SKELETON TURNSKIN.)
(NOT A CREEPY NECROMANTIC ATROCITY...)
(BUT A PERFECTLY COOL AND HEALTHY LIVING SKELETON!)
I'M HERE TODAY TO ANSWER SOME QUESTIONS.
AND NOT JUST ANY LIST I WROTE AHEAD OF TIME...
YOUR QUESTIONS!!!
CONSIDER THIS AN OPEN INVITATION, TO ASK WHAT'S ON YOUR MIND.
NO WORD WILL GO UNACKNOWLEDGED!
(SOME THINGS, I WON'T ANSWER. BUT I'LL ANSWER THAT I'M NOT ANSWERING THEM.)
THOSE OF YOU NEW TO THIS PLACE... THOSE STILL FEELING LOST AND ALONE SOMETIMES...
I'M SURE I DON'T KNOW THE DEPTHS OF YOUR FEELINGS.
BUT! I WILL DO ALL I CAN TO REASSURE YOU:
YOU'RE NOT ALONE!
PAPYRUS IS HERE FOR YOU.
WE'RE ALL HERE TOGETHER.
[ooc: If the capslock is too much, let me know and I can drop it when tagging you. It'll still be happening IC.]

voice;

But. I can't help but notice... You didn't ask a question.
If you're still thinking of one, take your time!
Re: voice
But I suppose I should ask something, in the spirit of things... [ Another chuckle. ]
Have you a favorite bird, lad?
no subject
[He hums a thoughtful sound, one that he draws out for a few seconds, losing volume as he thinks the question over.]
I knew a few birds at home... But I wasn't very close friends with any of them...
Oh! I think my favorites are, the birds that first sing, when it's getting into morning. Like they're making the sun rise with their song...
no subject
I suppose I could call that precious to me, as well. The rise of the sun is a symbol of rebirth, after all. To awaken from the cold of night...
no subject
[Except the vampires, and insomniacs, and associated other smattering of nocturnal folks.]
I can't believe I'm already used to that...
no subject
I take it you didn't have many dawns before...
no subject
You could go your whole life without seeing the sun.
no subject
One wonders what would lead to such a kind bonely fellow to wind up in such a place.
no subject
Nyeh heh heh, oh my god... I should have known anyone and everyone makes those jokes.
no subject
no subject
[Wait, this is the ask Papyrus anything time, not the time for him to ask the questions.]
no subject
[ She doesn't mind answering the question, but she does worry the nature of her work will upset him... It wasn't an easy thing for the kind souls of the world to deal with. ]
no subject
[A hunter not of beasts, well, that sounds like a hunter of people.]
That sounds. Difficult.
[She's right about that assumption, enough that he's not even going to pursue the question. He's spoken to Maria before. Memorably. Briefly. And then quit responding precisely because he was busy being upset, as the full moons began rising.]
I'm glad you have your sense of humor to get you through.
no subject
Worry not. I've no need to perform my work here. Fighting the Cwyld is labor enough.
no subject
You're brave to go fighting that... It's so big. And so much.
[The occasional feral monster or explosive witch isn't great, but they're so much smaller than the Cwyld...
And there's so many options. Pranks and parties for connection. Bonding to keep that energy going, and to have another mind and emotions as anchor. Even stun spells, if worst comes to worst.]
no subject
[ Her words weren't as curt or cold as the their very nature might suggest. They seemed remarkably calm... ]
I simply lack any other place in this world.
no subject
[Solemn, is the tone he takes from her. Something like what he'd heard from Undyne, a few times, talking about why she had to go through with her responsibilities. Lives depending on her, and all.]
...But. You know. I'm sure you could make a new place, in this world. If you wanted.
no subject
[ She realized it felt a little strange to allude to the ravages of time to someone who was ostensibly the reanimated dead. Time didn't have much meaning to a skeleton, she thought. ]
no subject
[He has to concede that much, at least. Toriel's habits and turns of phrase were plainly built up over the centuries of her life, even as she tried to adapt to things like cell phones. How much slower would changing be for someone who wasn't particularly interested in connecting with new people?]
But, if you just want to try new things. Or new ways of doing things. Don't be afraid to try! Who knows, one might work better for you.
[...Including the hunting of monsters, just in case that's a factor here.]
