[ Her voice was quiet. Before she gave a sigh, beginning to talk. ]

So, uh. Anybody else realise they forgot their nameday? It's been a bloody year since I got 'ere. I'm twenty now.

--not that I celebrated my nameday before. Just know it's a custom for a lot of people. And now I've said it, maybe it'd be nice t'hear how people did it 'round your home.

We can't forget our homes. Even as some of us have been 'ere for so long.

Uh... The 32nd Sun of the Fifth Astral Moon. Whenever that is here.

The days to each moon aren't quite the same, so it might take some conversion… but in any case, that's some time away, now.

…would you like to do something for it?

[fordola]

...I never did anything for it before. [ she admitted, quietly. ] But I'd like t'do... something. We've survived a year.

Then, perhaps next time. [Mm, what can he get her…. Something practical, certainly.]. We have. It's certainly something to mark- perhaps with a toast?

[fordola]

Sounds good to me. We're no longer Spoken, but we're still ourselves. Just with a few more feathers.

...meet at the piers?

Exactly. And the feathers aren't all bad, really. [Flight has been… well, frightening and exhilarating.

That sounds good. I'll see you there.

[And he takes off for the piers once he's clicked the watch off, keeping an eye out for her.]

[ Once she arrives, Thancred would notice one strange thing - she's gotten dressed up, instead of just slipping on a loose gown. She's also walking on her back legs, but she tends to do that in public. ]

Waitin' long?

[…maybe he should have gotten a little more dressed up? He think he's dressed nicely enough, if casually.]

Not too long. [He moves close, offering her an arm if she wants it.] Have you chosen where we should go?

[fordola]

Yeah. There's a small place I know.

...monster-friendly. [ she added, after a slight pause. ]

That's good. [He nods- he assumed so, but it's good to know for sure.]. What's their special?

[fordola]

A hearty sorta meat. Depending on what's dragged in.

...I work for 'em sometimes.

Well, that sounds like a good meal.

Oh? Well, that's good. They pay well enough, don't they?

[fordola]

How d'you think I've been gettin' supplies? Stealin' em? [ She asked, her smile warm, as they approached. A small homely place, Fordola gave a little tilt of her head. It seemed that mostly bird-like monsters worked here... ]

Hm. I'd assumed you'd been clever about it. [Not that he thought she had been stealing. But he's sure she'd have covered her trail if she had.

He makes a soft sound, ears rising a little.]

It looks nice. Friendly, too.

[fordola]

[ She lets out a little song, nodding. ] It is. Found it one night when I was close t'going feral. They fed me and calmed me.

So- a place of refuge, then. It sounds good.

[He reaches out to touch her arm for a moment, trying to reassure.]

[fordola]

[ A smile, as she led him in. ]

Y'know, I never asked. How old are you? I mean, we both missed our namedays.

[wordsinthesoul]

Ah. Well- admittedly, it's been a while since I made much of the date. [It's probably not the actual date, either.]. I would say this would be my thirty-fifth summer. […something like that, anyhow.]

[fordola]

--you're that old. You barely look older then me. I mean, except for the scruff on your face.

[wordsinthesoul]

…hm. Well, that's well enough, for the most part. [He huffs, one hand coming up to pat it down.]. It doesn't look that bad, does it?

[fordola]

[ A little chuckle. ] Eh, my beard's better. [ Her mane. ]

[wordsinthesoul]

[He gives a soft chuckle in turn.]. It's certainly fuller, but don't you think it's just as impressive?

[…it only took him an age to get this much, though.]

[fordola]

Well, it is super fluffy. You can't say that about yours.

Still. How do you look so young?

[wordsinthesoul]

To my great sorrow.

[Ah, well. He grins, winking one eye.]
