Might I — ngh — might I trouble someone for help?
[there's a soft crackle of what might be breath on the mic, and then the shifting of what sounds like bedsheets. the voice that ultimately speaks again is low and husky, fairly deep, but there's something boyish and hesitant to it. some of francel's words come out awkward and tense, as if he is in a great deal of pain, and struggling to get the words out.]
It's been... several bells since last I took a meal, by my count, and... I'm terribly hungry. The... the man with whom I share a residence is not like to be back for some time. Could I trouble someone to bring food to my doorstep?
[really, even he can't believe he's asking for this.]
I have little coin, but I would happily pay you for your time. Please, and blessings on you.

Newt...?
[right, it's newt, isn't it? again, the man is more kind than francel expected him to be. first the dream-forest, and now this?]
Why, that... that's very kind of you. Are you sure you don't need compensation? I — [hold, please, while he starts coughing like he's dying.]
no subject
[His voice is steady and a bit on the quieter side.]
I have no need for compensation. I do plenty enough to get by and I'm much more concerned for you to care about any sort of compensation. You sound dreadfully unwell and I most certainly think that you feeling better is compensation enough.

I — [wheeze] — you're very kind. I... I will accept your offer, with the caveat that I do owe you a favor, if ever you should have need to call upon it.
[he'll give directions: his home is in the ordinary housing district, close to the wall.]
I think we've enough in the pantry to make a decent meal. I just don't trust myself to handle a pan at present.

[Newt also was someone who never looked at doing things for personal gain. He was the type who merely did things because he felt it the right thing to do.] If I'm in need, then I'll make it known, but really do not worry too much. I'm getting on fine as it is.
[Newt doesn't know the state of their kitchen, so he definitely packs a bag with some ingredients just in case and makes his way to Francel's place from the barracks. He politely knocks on the door, of course, not wanting to intrude and for the other to know he has arrived.]

Ah, Newt. Here you are. [he steps back to let the man inside, spreads his hands.] Welcome to Haillenarte Manor.
[it's a sarcastic joke, of course; the house is a very ordinary one by aefenglom's standards, and not a manor at all.]

You're more used to larger abodes? [A lot of the little townhomes of London were smaller and far from lavish. There were plenty of wizards and witches (purebloods of course) who lived in more extravagant homes.
Newt makes his way to the kitchen and places his bag on the counter.] Thank you for having me, of course. Let's see if we can't get something proper started so you can have a splendid meal. [Of course, his priority was to care for the other while he was here.]

[francel's voice is quiet as he closes the door behind newt, his lips curving briefly in a grateful but pained smile.]
As to your question... both yes and no, I suppose. As a child, I lived in a manor far more luxurious than this, but for the past five years I have lived in a humble cottage no larger than one of the rooms in this house. [a pause.] And you, if I might ask?

His magic is far from being the level it was once before, but he has regained at least some basics that he can start using it for his everyday.]
I lived out in the country where there was a lot of open space, really. My mom bred hippogryphs, so we needed space for them. [They definitely lived in a larger space because of that, but it was more humbling than anything.] I lived in an apartment on my own after, but it's been awhile since I've lived anywhere persay. I had been traveling for awhile now.
