I'm Byleth Eisner. I've met some of you already. I suppose you would call this an... interest check? [ she takes off her glasses, hanging them from the neckline of her shirt. ] Most of my recent work before coming here was in commanding my Emperor's army, but I'm an experienced teacher as well. Armed and unarmed combat, archery, strategy and tactics, riding, magic... rhetoric and composition. [ was that last one a joke? it's impossible to tell. her face gives no hints one way or another. ]

The Coven trains witches in magic, but that only does so much good. I'd like to work towards establishing a school where the Mirrorbound without martial skills can learn them. As it is, the Wilde is too dangerous for too many of us, and ad-hoc lessons aren't enough. [ she waves a hand. ] This is all... hypothetical, right now. But if this sounds something you'd like to either help with or learn from, please, let me know. In the meantime, I'm open to teaching one-on-one.

[ she seems to consider something, briefly, before: ]

... Also, firearms are new to me. I'm familiar with powder explosives, and I've seen cannons, but if anyone might help me to understand the use and maintenance of guns, I would appreciate it.

This sounds like a worthy endeavor; I am presently giving one-on-one instruction to a pupil, but if you're interested in expanding such lessons to more of the Mirrorbound, I can offer my own services.

Both. I understand the basic principles of front-loaded cannon, but even that's only from reputation.

Guns small enough to carry haven't been invented anywhere in my home world, as far as I'm aware. It's a type of weapon I'm keen to know more of.

She and Corrin have been teaching about how to use a sword [so far, a wooden one], and she's been tutoring me in a bunch of other subjects, too. She's been really helpful and kind to me. I've only been taught by her for the past month and a half, but she also taught Lady Edelgard and Sir Lorenz and a lot of other really strong people, so her longterm results are also wonderful! I guarantee it!

What kind of space would be needed for a school like that? If there's going to be a lot of students, I don't know if you could hold it in the yard.

Somewhere in the Haven, probably. I think I've identified a need, but I want to have more people to work with on this before we reach that stage. At the bare minimum, we would need target ranges, a training ground, an armory of some kind...? [ she shakes her head. ] I normally delegated logistical questions like this.

I was a commander in my home as well - I held the second-highest rank a foreigner could in the Imperial Army. If you require somebody who's got that discipline to help keep order in such a school, I'd be open to it.

...while I did not use firearms like this realm, my weapon before arriving here was a type of gun which used explosives to augment the swings of a blade.

Culinary skill is always a bonus. Though I'm not sure how it might apply. [ she genuinely seems to turn that over in her head, and it comes out with a touch of warmth. and she's never given much thought to what the astrologers say. the whole concept of things being written in the stars is nonsense, to her. the astronomers... there's something there, perhaps. ]

A specialist archer would be ideal. I'm fair with a bow, but my talents mostly lie elsewhere.

I can't say I know much, but I'm sturdy and a little bit of a former scrapper, so to speak...? [Sheepish.] Ah, and I was a wrestling enthusiast when I was a kid, and I keep in pretty good shape, do sports, that kind of thing. That may not sound like much, but what I mean is I'm sturdy, if you need anyone for, mm, I guess unarmed sparring? I think with a little more formal education on weapon techniques, I'd be more than okay with them, too, since I have experience with stage fighting.

That sounds workable. [ she nods, a bit of warmth in her tone. ] I don't think a strict divide between student and instructor is necessary. If you feel capable enough to lead a class in a specialty, that doesn't mean you can't participate in other classes.
