[ a dark-haired young woman in glasses and dark local fashion sits in front of the camera. she can't be older than 21, surely. anyway, byleth's been here for over a month and she's only posting to the network now. ]

I'm Byleth Eisner. I've met some of you already. I suppose you would call this an... interest check? [ she takes off her glasses, hanging them from the neckline of her shirt. ] Most of my recent work before coming here was in commanding my Emperor's army, but I'm an experienced teacher as well. Armed and unarmed combat, archery, strategy and tactics, riding, magic... rhetoric and composition. [ was that last one a joke? it's impossible to tell. her face gives no hints one way or another. ]

The Coven trains witches in magic, but that only does so much good. I'd like to work towards establishing a school where the Mirrorbound without martial skills can learn them. As it is, the Wilde is too dangerous for too many of us, and ad-hoc lessons aren't enough. [ she waves a hand. ] This is all... hypothetical, right now. But if this sounds something you'd like to either help with or learn from, please, let me know. In the meantime, I'm open to teaching one-on-one.

[ she seems to consider something, briefly, before: ]

... Also, firearms are new to me. I'm familiar with powder explosives, and I've seen cannons, but if anyone might help me to understand the use and maintenance of guns, I would appreciate it.

[ byleth pauses again. ]

[ when leslie turns on her video, she doesn't initially directly address byleth, instead hoping other people will notice it when she says: ]

General Eisner is a really good teacher! -- Or Professor Eisner, in this case? She and Corrin have been teaching about how to use a sword [so far, a wooden one], and she's been tutoring me in a bunch of other subjects, too. She's been really helpful and kind to me. I've only been taught by her for the past month and a half, but she also taught Lady Edelgard and Sir Lorenz and a lot of other really strong people, so her longterm results are also wonderful! I guarantee it!

[ impromptu pitch over, she actually addresses byleth. ]

What kind of space would be needed for a school like that? If there's going to be a lot of students, I don't know if you could hold it in the yard.

[ byleth can't shake the smile that comes to her face at leslie doing that on her behalf; the enthusiasm only a child can bring works wonders. ]

Somewhere in the Haven, probably. I think I've identified a need, but I want to have more people to work with on this before we reach that stage. At the bare minimum, we would need target ranges, a training ground, an armory of some kind...? [ she shakes her head. ] I normally delegated logistical questions like this.

[ leslie puts one finger on her chin and she looks up for a moment in thought before returning to looking at byleth. ]

I haven’t explored inside of it, but there is a barracks just inside the Bright Wall. I know that some people live there and some people run their businesses out of it, but if it’s called a barracks, it must have been intended for use by soldiers at one time. Maybe there are some, um, target ranges and things like that.

[ all she has to go on for knowing what training grounds look like come from byleth and corrin’s lessons. another idea occurs to her and she adds: ]

And Lady Edelgard knows at least one good blacksmith, so she would know how to fill up an armoury. It’s just a room with a lot of weapons, right?
