question. what's supposed to go into a bonding vow? how did your bonding ceremonies go? are you supposed to wear something nice? bring presents? would appreciate some advice.

Isn't that how it's done on your world? A ceremony, Being well dressed? Vows and exchanging tokens?

I was under the impression bonding wasn't that serious, but apparently I was mistaken.

i just wanred to know how seriously i should be taking this and what other people do for their bonding ceremonies

I mean it. It's. Nice. To see someone be that concerned about something, for their partner's sake. Just don't forget that you are partners - the best person to talk to about what they want out of this is them.

That's entirely possible. [to be fair, she was totally messing with him] It's hard to figure out over text. Better to not take it too seriously - or if you must, look at why you react as you do.

And related to that -serious question, I promise- does the idea of bonding with your chosen person make you happy?

Well, I don't know. You could just view bonding like a business contract, if it's all just for convenience's sake.

And there's probably someone somewhere who gets off on feeling miserable about these things. [vex]

But it sounds like you're at least friendly? Known them a while? That's cool. Maybe focus on the things that make you happy, together, for the bonding. Fancy dress optional, of course.
