Hey everyone!
First of all, welcome to all the new arrivals! Seems like we had a really big group this time. I'm sorry you got dragged into all of this.
Anyway, my name's Elliot. I'm a musician and a healer. If you're interested in music lessons, I offer private and group lessons for violin, piano, guitar, recorders, harmonica, or singing. It's always a good time to learn, and the first lesson's free! Oh and don't worry if your monster changes might complicate things, we'll find a workaround! Just let me know if you're interested.
Finally, for most of my stay here, I've been studying how to heal Cwyld infections under the Coven's infirmary. I've gotten pretty far...but I can only see so many people. So...I want to offer lessons to teach people what I've learned. I'm only allowed to teach methods that the Coven will approve of me sharing, but they should be effective at healing new or mild infections!
Unfortunately only witches will be able to do the techniques. Not only that, it's pretty tough stuff to learn and if it goes wrong it can lead permanent damage. So anyone who wants to learn will have to prove they're capable with alchemy and enchantments first. Sorry.
Anyway...let me know if you're interested, I guess.
[OOC: Sign ups for music lessons can be found here. Most lessons will be handwaved unless you want to hatch out a specific thread]

Ah, then that much seems to be true in more than one world! I believe a lot of incantations can be sung, though it's certainly not a requirement if you're not of the bardic persuasion. Purely vocal, or do you have a preferred instrument?
Hmm; I'll remember that. I take it being infected can make someone more resistant to care?

Music does have it's own power, so that makes sense it'd be true in more than one world. And I prefer instrument! I can sing, but I feel more comfortable with a violin in my hands. My staff can even turn into one for strong spells.
No, it's not exactly the Cwyld to blame it's just ... well, have you ever had to convince someone stubborn to see a doctor?

If he ever shows up here, I'll make sure to introduce you.
That's fantastic. Usually our bard sings, particularly if we're in need of a bit of a boost in battle, but he's quite adept with a shawm. I don't think he's ever transformed a weapon into an instrument before, however. [Mythcarver certain doesn't count for that]
Yes.
[ There's a short delay, then: ]
Ah. I see what you're getting at. hmm. I'll keep that in mind.

Wow, I've only heard of shawms in music history class.[Talk about old school]> Haha, well to be fair, orbal staffs are built to do stuff like that. I don't think I could turn any old staff into an instrument ... besides a big drumstick.

Really? I think it's more common in Southern Tal'dorei. He has a few other instruments, but that tends to be his fall back if he can't sing.
Interesting. Since you've been here, have you found any other musically inclined mages? Or instrument-weapons belonging to the natives?

Not any instrument weapons, but there are some who use music for their magic. It's another good way to channel magic after all.

I can see it. Scanlan had songs and tunes he'd play back when that helped relax us when we were resting on the road at night, or between battles. I can see how others might find similar uses for music and song.
