so i've been doing some thinking lately and i got a pretty major question mainly for other monsters, but i'll totally take tips n tricks from witches too

ANYWAY
its about the whole
going feral thing.

are there any major-major signs before you go apeshit or does it just happen? and outside of bonds and stuff, what's the easiest way of snapping out of it? or snapping other people out if you find them?

Find a Bond. That's the best possible way to prevent this from even becoming a problem, in the first place.

It's best handled by the Coven, in such cases. There are potions that can stave off madness for witches, or going feral in monsters, but those are subpar solutions.

I suppose that if a Bond or potions were unavailable to one, the responsible and humane thing to do would be to remove oneself from a heavily populated area, at the very least.

It can. Occasionally, it does; while the common wisdom is that finding a Bond is the best option, as you pointed out yourself it's not always an available one.

More difficult for loners, certainly, though I'm not sure if you consider yourself one.

Your best bet if you don't want a Bond is to find potions for sale that mimic the effects of one. Those aren't exactly a long-term solution, though. I really would suggest a Bond.

I've never gone completely feral, but I've come close. I wanted to hurt people. I managed to control myself, but I'm sure if I had gone fully feral I wouldn't have been able to hold back.

I had more energy, oddly enough. I was restless and irritable. That was very unusual for me.

For someone on land, we probably wouldn't be that bad. All they'd have to do is throw water on us, and we'd be incapable of doing much more than dragging ourselves along. You probably have realised by now that it's not an effective way of getting around. But in the water... I hate to think how much damage we could do to someone.

i unno, i've gotten preeeeetty good at booking it across the ground. i kinda use my tail to push myself along since its super flexible and pure muscle.

i hear you in the water though. i found something out about myself thats super freaky normally, so if i went bonkers it'd probably be even scarier.

I don't like the feeling of the ground scraping on my scales, so I've never tried it. Maybe you should teach me how you do it.

it doesn't really bother mine but i also get pretty slippery if its raining out. i never figured eels were that slimy until the night i first got the ass :(

i found out cause it almost killed me while i was eating??? they flew out and grabbed what i was trying to swallow and my food almost got stuck

You're not wrong, I suppose. Though I'm not sure I'll be referring to my own tail as "the ass" any time soon.

There wasn't, no. When the moon hit, it felt like electricity ran in me and you change, your body goes into both a panicking and survival mode.

In my case, I was already bonded, but I couldn't fully control myself even then. I'm afraid to think what it would have been like not bonded at all.

It differs for everyone, I've found out. In my case, I'm a Chimera, and they are known to be more aggressive, so I figure that's partly why.

Yeah I can understand. I got my wings last month and while it didn't hurt as much there's still a painful and panicking stage.

It was easier once the moon was over but I still had the urge to run away because I was ashamed of what I had done...my partner made a charm for me and that helped a lot. I honestly think he should start selling them to help out others.

man i don't wanna imagine how bad that must've stung tho. i think i'll take falling flat on my face cause my legs quit working over literal back pains like that :( i'm glad it's better now tho.

Honestly, it was more my pride that was stung at the end. And thank you :)

It's little packets of special herbs and crystals that I hang over my neck like a charm. He's been studying them. When he first put one when I was trying to run away from him, it was like everything felt a little better? I didn't feel as fearful or overthink myself...

I can ask him! What type of monster are you? Any allergies? Since that might change how he has to make them.

more like a big moray eel than anything else. i don't think i have any allergies, but my sense of smell is SUPER crazy good now so i dunno if that'd change anything either

He says it's good to know about the smell too, he can make something that doesn't use too many herbs or overwhelm your senses. Maybe a pouch that's waterproof too.

I agree :) He's very important to me, but I think he wants to make sure he's really good at this. I think it's a bit like taking a pill when you have a headache - it might not help completely, but at least it offers some help?

I also think he wants to make sure it works not just with me, haha. Maybe if more people start asking, he'll get the message ;)

hey man, im yosuke. the guy he's talkin about. im rly not important, but i did wanna get it rite for my partner. but i mean, im definitely ok with tryin to help others. its not a cure all tho, it's like partner said, it'll help just not heal completely. thats kinda still on u.

it also depends on what u want the charm for? partner was super anxious and stuff, cuz he accidentally hurt me when he changed on the second moon, so i made something to help relax and calm. if thats somethin u need, i have some! otherwise just lmk what ur lookin for and ill see what i can do! im still learnin, after all.

So, speaking as a witch who's been the target of someone going feral...
They took a nasty bite out of me and kind of snapped out of it. Probably got some magic from my blood, is my guess, but I don't know how long it held them over.
So finding some way to keep from going that far is probably your better bet.

Your most pressing concern will be your heightened strength. You won't be unable to tell friend from foe if you're that far gone.

Temporary bonds are an option if you're unwilling to bond just yet.

it's not that i'm super super unwilling (dont get me wrong the idea kinda freaks me out cause i've heard the other person can tell how you're feeling or something?) but i haven't really found the um

i'm mainly askin cause i saw a friend of mine go that way and i didnt see it coming so... i wanna know what the signs are and stuff in case it happens again
