[It's somewhere around mid-morning on full moon day when this post goes up, Momo doing his best to look somewhat professional-ish while obviously sitting himself half up in bed with his head resting on one curled hand. He looks extremely awake and restless like he's been wanting to get up for a while, but the suspiciously tentacle-looking charcoal grey thing barely in frame wrapped around his waist is probably a giveaway as to why he's having to make the post from this position.]

I've been thinking about this for a little while, but with everyone sharing information on here about stuff that's happened before some people arrived or what Monster changes to expect and so on, has anyone tried to get that kind of "relevant to everyone" information into one place? I was originally thinking about the collective dreams we kept having, since those seem to be important but it's kinda hard to get details on the ones that happened before you arrived unless you know who to ask. But I've also talked to certain Monsters who seem to have had real trouble researching their Monster type, and having a proper resource with changes or abilities that don't come up in books as often seems like it could be really useful for people going through that.

[As he talks, another tentacle creeps into frame and tries to poke at his face. Without even faltering in his speech, he pushes it right back out of frame with one red-nailed finger. And then flicks another one that barely even makes it past the edge of the frame before recoiling at the reprimand.]

So I'm wondering what people think about trying to put together more information in one collected place like that! I think it could really help some people out, but it'd take a lot of work to put together, so it'd be good to know whether there's interest in both having it and helping out with it. Especially with Monster details some people might not know until they meet someone who's gone through that change already, since that's probably a little easier to gather...like, if you're a Monster, what was the thing that surprised you most about your change? Or was there anything you couldn't find out about before it happened? That question goes for Witches living with Monsters if you got blindsided by something too!

[There's a sound of movement and a grumble that sounds something along the lines of "sleep", as a human arm with blue nails drapes itself over Momo's side. Momo turns his head with an all too sunny smile.]

Ah, darling, are you awake enough to let me out of bed now?

[Silence. Momo turns back to the Watch screen with a worryingly innocent grin that reveals his long canines.]

Well, I guess I'm answering from here...and you know, it's so much easier to have a conversation like this over video or audio call! Just make sure you speak up nice and loud, I think being stuck in bed this long has done something to my ears.

[He says that in a very deliberate, faux worried tone, winking as he mimes clearing his ear with a pinky. Sure, it's an actual serious inquiry, but might as well make a petty attempt at gaining freedom by making sleep impossible.]

[Momo does switch to audio when she does, at least, but he can't help but be a bit of a faux damsel ham when she asks that first question.]

That's right...I've been captured by a handsome sea monster, maybe I should just swoon into his embrace and wait for someone to save me...

[It actually sounds a bit like he makes a swooning motion when he says that, but he laughs a moment later.] Full moons do seem pretty intense. I'm not even a Monster, but I've seen enough living with two to think some kind of survival guide is a great idea. Speaking of, your bones made the switch okay, right?

[He was a bit tied up with the nuckelavee battle prep at the end of last month, so besides what he'd done to lessen her pain he hadn't been able to follow up as much as he would have liked, especially with how banged up he'd been himself after the fight.]

[She's not sure why she would have expected any other sort of answer from him. Everything he does, he does over-the-top, and she can't help laughing a little in response.]

A gentleman in distress, is that it? Do you need me to rush over there and save you?

[Of course, she's sure that's the last thing he wants, given how fond he is of said handsome sea monster.]

But yes, I think they did. There's no pain any longer, which I'm grateful for. Thank you again for visiting— and your offerings, of course. I was very fortunate to have so much good company while I was stuck at home. How have you been since I last saw you?

Hmm, I think I'll be fine...if a siren is trying to seduce me into his embrace then I'll just have to seduce him right back!

[He says that in a deliberately cutesy manner instead of anything trying to be remotely seductive, mostly for extra humour. It drops back to his normal tone a moment later, though.]

I was just happy I could help out. And I've been doing pretty well! Mostly I kinda got involved in that mess at the end of last month with the carnivorous horse monster things, but I'm fine.

[It's probably a good thing he switched out of video, because with a longer one (or a close rewatch of the first one) it'd be easier to see that he's still got a few nasty clawings, bitings and bruises closing up from it. But still considerably better than ending up in hospital like a few Mirrorbound, or dead like several of the Wilders.]

Ah, that's how that works, is it?

[Seduce him right back. That seems reasonable.]

I'm glad you're alright. I was in too much pain to be able to contribute during any of that...

[Her face falls, and while he can't see it, he can certainly hear it in her voice. Given how much stress she's put on wanting to be able to help people, it makes sense that she would struggle with having to miss out on something like that.]

I wish I could have done more. Next time, I'll be there.

It's worth a shot! [Not exactly the methods used in legends and fairytales, but hey, who says some sirens don't just want a good seducing.

Momo has always been good at reading the mood even just in audio form, so it's not hard to pick that downturn in her tone. He can guess at why, and while he figures there's only so much he can say that might help, he's still the type to try.]

It's important to take care of yourself as well, and that was a risky night even for people at full strength. You couldn't help the timing of your changes, but I'm sure there'll be more opportunities to contribute. There always are.

[In his experience, one can't really describe Aefenglom as quiet for any great span of time. There's usually something going on that needs hands.]

I suppose I've never really been good at that— looking after myself.

[Not that she's not plenty independent, but she's always tended to put the needs of others before her own when given the opportunity. Some people might think it's admirable, but honestly, it's more often to her detriment.]

Thank you for saying so, though. I may have needed that reminder.

[Momo gives a gentle, knowing laugh, as if he's familiar with the type.] It's usually the ones who are best at looking after others who need that kind of reminder. They tend to let their self-care slip in favour of everyone else.

[Not that Momo is like that himself or anything. Clearly he just has friends like that and thus can say this without hypocrisy.]

If you want to put a positive spin on it, now you have more time to get used to fighting with your new changes so you're better prepared for next time.

[Himself included, she thinks. He definitely seems to be speaking from experience.]

There's a thought. Definitely something I was planning to put effort into to begin with. I don't... move quite the same was as I used to, now.

Some of my juniors are a real handful! [That reasoning comes easily, since Momo is rather used to distancing himself from things that apply to him.]

Yeah, I think it was the same for Lio. I think he swordfought before he came here? But he definitely had an adjustment period to fighting like that again after he changed. So it'd be good to get that practice in instead of finding out what the differences are in a real fight.

That's good advice. Think of it as additional training.

[It's a good idea to stay on top of your skills and keep them sharp, anyway, even when you're not undergoing drastic changes like these.]

Sure! I wouldn't mind getting a couple of different people for each Monster type in case of different experiences with the transformation, so I'll need more than one harpie if I end up looking into this.

[There's Lio, but honestly he doesn't know a whole lot of other harpies that immediately come to mind besides him and Karin.]
