Do you ever find yourself missing the world you came from before coming here?

The people in it? Yeah.

The world itself? Not so much. It's pretty shit.

While I know where I come from is far from perfect, down right nasty at times, I do agree that the people there make it worthwhile.

I do miss my boss, and my friends.

But not having to make a $10,000 rent every month.

[She hasn't been poor in a long time but whoa, that makes her have a 'what in the actual fuck' moment.]

My electricity bill was about $8,000 a month, too.

Everything is super fucking expensive, back home.

I don't really miss that.

I wouldn't miss that either if I were in that position.

I swear, I sometimes feel weird over having as much money as I do now that I'm here.

Not that I'm rich or anything like that. But I'm definitely not living paycheck-to-paycheck like before.

I've been having a hard time getting used to it.

It would be hard, yes. My family and I have been pretty poor when I was growing up and having extra money to this day still baffles me.

Thankfully, it just taught me to spend wisely and to be careful. Rather have something just in case an emergency comes instead of spending it all.

Yeah, that makes sense. I had to be pretty smart with my money back home. Any unexpected expenses and all my planning would be thrown off.

Which is a lot more likely to happen when you have a cat that doesn't know any better.
