I've been thinking about this decision we're left to make about Morgana Drummond. Sheesh, talk about a toughie, right? I mean, why NOT kill Drummond dead? Sounds easy-peasy to me! Dorchacht's Coven is even preparing the pyre and everything. Yay, fire!
[Henry busts out in a raucous laugh.]
You have to admire that initiative. Oh, by the by, you can't resurrect bones without the body stuffs, I guess. Reanimation ONLY. Trust me on that.
So anyway, they say they're gonna seal away her ashes. But I can't help but wonder if there's reeeeally any way to guarantee that she won't be resurrected after we burn her to bones at the stake. Imagine how awesome it'd be, facing off against an UNDEAD Drummond, revived by her necromancer lackeys! Nya ha ha! Guess we'd better hope that pile of ashes doesn't end up in the wrong hands, huh?
Who are you guys gonna side with? Dorchacht's death sentence, or Aefenglom's curious Coven?

Can't say I know much about necromancy, but you sure sound excited about the subject. [ Dryly. Captain obvious here. ] Scattering the ashes into a river should make it harder for anyone to try to revive her.
[ That's not really the point, but oh well! ]

[Yeah, Henry's not a very good liar, so he tries to stick to true statements.]
I've had a few people suggest scattering it into the ocean or the wind. I think we could really make those necromancers work for it by picking a couple locations! It'd be like a hero's quest if they wanna revive her, only it's totally villainous. The depths of the ocean, the blustery winds, the core of a volcano... We could split 'em up!

From the sounds of it, you'd fit right in with the Mage's Association folk. [ Spooky, gruesome stuff. And magic, of course, lots of magic. ]
Why are you so sure they would want to enthrall her, though? Symbols for a cause are usually better off as dead.

[A brief pause as Henry gathers his spoons to retell something.]
Back where I'm from, there was the Halidom of Ylisse — a nation on the opposing side of my home country, Plegia. A few year ago, their Exalt, Emmeryn, was killed before countrymen of both sides: she basically walked the plank, only it was in the desert and waaaay up high! Watching her take that graceful step off the ledge, clasping her hands in prayer... then, Ka-SPLAT! It was pretty memorable, I hear. Enough to bring a tear to even a Plegian barbarian's eye, nya ha!
Anyway, what I'm getting at is that it made everyone kinda sad for a while, but they only grew stronger after her death. So you might be right about Drummond's supporters. Maybe they wouldn't bother trying to resurrect her if they could just continue on her legacy. Who knows!

She mostly commanded by fear, but there were enough believing in her cause that they were ready to continue it when her fate was unknown. The spectacle like you describe is meant to be seen as rightful punishment by victors, and strike fears in the defeated— but it might as well inspire vengeance.
And there are few more destructive and intense forces that drive a man than revenge.
[ . . . ]
Don't get me wrong, I agree with Dorchacht in that she can't be left alive. But it would be best if she dies in combat.

Aside from intelligence and the revenge, I don't see a drawback to that. Do you think we could get away with just chopping her head off, or exploding her to gooey, fleshy bits?

If someone gets to land a definite blow on her they should take it, they could always cite self-defense, no?
If I get a chance at that shot, I'm going to take it. Not making a mistake like that again.

[It's not war, so just killing people is often scrutinized. A strange society Henry's not accustomed to. He grew up among war and famine, a veritable free-for-all.]
Well, it'd be stupid anyway, to let yourself get killed by her if you can kill her first. I don't see why the heck not. If she's threatening, she oughta have her head sliced clean off! I hear beheading's a BLOODY way to go. Fun, right?
