since we got some newbies, i thought maybe it'd be a good idea
to talk about what's been the best and worst thing about being here
u know so they kinda know what to expect??

so the worst thing for me was some of the weird stuff i'd do because i'm a puca now ૮⍝◜•˕̮•◝⍝ა
like chewing on furniture
or
freezing up because someone spooked me
or hopping around when i get real excited
(well i kinda did that anyway before, but it's different??? idk how to explain it)
or that one time i kept digging holes
but i've gotten the hang of a lot of those things and don't do them as much
(sorry professor about the coffee table leg!! ( ´•̥ו̥` ))

best thing hmmmmmm...
well, i've met a lot of really cool people i wouldn't have a chance to back home! o(≧∇≦o)
some of them have left since then
but i won't be sad about anybody being gone
just happy that i got the chance to meet them
even people who kinda annoy me at first have a lot to offer
and it's nice having a bunch of people who are going through similar things as you
because doing this alone would SUCK (゜▽゜;)

anyway, what about everybody else?

My worst experience has been magic buildup.[ It's not his worst-worst, but this is more applicable than realizing this is the only place he's still alive. ] I spent far too long without a bond and only hurt myself with that. The sickness was awful and it could have ended up so much worse.

My best...My best has been finding a new purpose here. I live out in the slums with my bonded and we both help keep it safe. I also do what I can to make life better for the people living out there, too, and bring them food and medicine. I've also been volunteering with the orphanage...I've found another home here, much more peaceful than the one I came from.

i'm really glad you decided to bond and didn't get too too sick
bc ur totally right i've heard it gets really bad for witches if they don't bond
like in some ways monsters have it a little easier with that sort of thing, i think
we don't act like ourselves but we dont feel bad while it's happening either
you must keep busy with all that stuff tho!
but it's really nice of you to spend so much time on other people like that

It seems monsters invariably get the worst of things... I wonder if there's anyone in the city who has enjoyed the process of their distortion of body and mind. Even if the result has its benefits for some, the penalties do appear to be considerable.

I've been fortunate to escape that much unscathed, witch as I am- though this world's magic is poor substitution of my native talents. I would say that loss to be among the worst aspects of being here, though for anyone new, that doesn't offer much of what to expect. It's already happened, there's little to prepare for.

i don't think the monsters that are actually native to here mind being what they are
since you know they were born into it and they didn't go thru the changes or w/e like we do
but i would agree that there's a pretty big steep learning curve around being a monster compared to being a witch.
then again, a lot of the witches i know were witches before and already really good at it??? so maybe they're not the best comparison

hm then maybe is there a school of the magic here that was harder for you to learn than others?
maybe you could talk about that! and then whichever one was kinda the easiest for you to pick up

Hmm. Well, I can take it from a Monster perspective and say... the best part has, so far, been expanding my horizons, learning new things and methodologies, and new ways of thinking. This place is rather unlike my world, so the different perspectives really challenges my way of approaching things.

On the negative side... I have hair in places I didn't otherwise. Not sure I like it. Waking up and playing "spot the difference" after the full moon was an interesting game I wasn't sure I wanted to play either.

dont know if its really that bad compared to other people
witches seem to have it pretty easy you know ?

and ive made a ton of friends and seen some killer stuff
but sometimes it just hits you you know ?

best thing is easy
the monsters and magic and stuff !
we dont got that kind of thing where im from so everything is really awesome to see
even on days im not doing anything exciting it ends up being exciting :)

like i was saying to someone else, i know people who were already really good at magic
so i could imagine someone not as good at magic having a harder time
or like that nice guy up there who didn't bond right away, that was probably pretty hard
i guess what i'm saying is maybe some stuff is easier for them, but i don't know if that's true every time or for everyone
hm, but i guess witches do have a bit of an easier "fix" for the stuff that's harder for them
whereas not a whole lot monsters can do about their bodies changing and stuff

but anyway, that's a really great way to think about it!
i can relate though because that's EXACTLY how i felt the first time i went to luna nova academy back home
i think maybe i should try a little harder to notice that here, too
sometimes i just get lost in the day-to-day lately

on the bright side, the fuzzy tail is so cute, it's actually worth it!

and at least it's not so hard to find people who can fix your clothes up for you, too!
i bet in other worlds you'd have a lot harder time finding someone willing to do that

i got a little tail myself! but I'm able to keep it under my skirts, so i didn't really need anything fixed for that
