Hello, newcomers and long-time Mirrorbound alike. Before I get started - I will address the inevitable questions:

One - I am a deer, and I am a Witch.
Two - I do have fingers and toes.
Three - No, my antlers do not make a good hat rack.

[ He definitely has only gotten asked about that last one once. Only once. He doesn't prompt anyone to ask anything because he knows how people are going to ask anyway. ]

And, down to the important business.

Last year, near this time, we had a Masquerade. I find that after a stressful several months, dressing nice and socializing, drinking, eating, and dancing is a pretty effective way to relax.

[ He taps his finger against his muzzle, as if he's thinking. ]

This time, instead of trying to plan it in a week, it's going to be in almost three weeks. Which means that it has to be better. Grander.

I need something from you, though. I want to make sure it's not just a repeat of last year, so I want to hear any special requests you may have for an event like this.

[ He's prepared to hear interesting things here. ]

If anyone has any talents they want to bring to the table, I'd like to hear about it. Especially if you're good at decorating, you play music, or anything like that.

After all, there's so many of us here, and who's here is always changing. It would be a real shame to not enjoy the gifts of some of our newcomers.

...What's a Masquerade?

A party where everyone puts on a mask in order to be mysterious. It's mostly dancing and music beyond that, though. The appeal of a Masquerade is that you don't always know who you're engaging with.

I don't have any suggestions for the event itself aside from 'we should have good food,' but maybe we can put together some kind of costume-finding event beforehand? It'd be fun to have people come up with what to wear together!

Oh, uh, 'nd I play the drums! So if you need something like that for music I don't mind doing it. Kinda miss performing for a big group, actually.

Anyway, my partner and I are performers back home. I'm volunteering us, if we fit the bill. Are you looking for something people can dance to?

I have a lot of practice. It's about the same as it would be anywhere, else, really. No better, no worse.

That's precisely what I'm looking for here. Just for a little bit of it, I still want anyone who performs to be able to enjoy themselves, so I wouldn't take your whole night.

[ It doesn't take too long for Kaito to figure out the communicator thing, thankfully. At which point a video of a fairly normal teenage boy (well, normal in Kaito's world anyway) pops up in response. ]

We had drinking, dancing, games a bit, too. We had a few Mirrorbound perform music sometimes. And at night we hit the lights, had glowsticks, and partied until dawn.

My only question about the Masquerade is... how big of a requirement is it to dress nice? I don't own any nice clothes, but I still want to come. I can play the horn and I like to think I'm an okay singer, but I'm not a professional or anything like that.

There's a few of us, but not very many who started off not-human, at least.

I mean, I'm not going to make anyone go pick out new clothes, so you can dress as nice as you want or don't want. But if you want something nicer and can play music, I can arrange something for you.
