[Omi's wearing a broad smile this time when he hits up the general populace, and he's holding a digital camera in one hand. There's a distinct wolflike quality to him these days.]

Ah, hi everyone. I'm Omi Fushimi. I was looking for a way to kind of give back to everyone here, and I came up with an idea... well, half of one. I'll need help with the second half, I think.

See, I'm a photographer, for lack of a better way to put things. I was thinking it might be nice to document people who are here, what they did back home, what they do now, their experiences... Like a big community yearbook or something. That way as people come and go, nobody will be forgotten, and we won't forget where we started.

I'm not the most compelling writer ever, so if anyone wants to help me with the interviews I'd be grateful. I'm mostly in it for the portraits, sure, but I could do some great candids while people are being interviewed!

So if anyone is interested in helping with interviews or wants to be interviewed or photographed, just let me know. I'll arrange everything else.

I wanted something a little less melancholy than all of that. Anyway, I'd like to take as many pictures as possible, so even if you just help, I'm afraid a candid might get snapped...

[He says it with a little laugh.]

Oh, jeez. [Omi's laughing but the big guy is sounding genuinely concerned by this possibility, having taken this too seriously like the enormous idiot he is.] You can delete them though, right? 's not gonna waste any shots or nothing?

Ah, I was teasing...

[HE'S SORRY. He's just like this.]

No shot's wasted, not when you're trying to capture somebody in the moment. Don't worry at all. Do you have any hobbies or really flashy skills?

[so is Styx, unfortunately, which is how we've gotten to where we are now...alas.

no shot's wasted...it's something that he has trouble believing if any of them involve himself, but this man is a professional photographer so he must know best, right? difficult as it is, he accepts that statement as a fact and puts his concerns to bed.]

Uh, it's not really flashy unless I'm all done up for a show, but I play drums! Dunno how good that'd be if you can't hear them, though.

It's the same way that sports photography is still exciting without the cheering crowds.

[Omi's pumped, clearly.]

I want to see the "you" that you want to show everyone. If you were to have to present yourself your most authentic way, what would it look like?

[clearly! and, slowly but surely, it's starting to wear off a little on the big idiot he's talking to.]

Well...[he'd hum a little, thoughtful, as if this was a massive riddle he'd been presented with.] The, uh, the 'real me', I guess? 's not all that cool...rather have everybody see me like I'm gonna do a show, with the corpse paint and everything.

[what he was and what he wanted to show...they were two different things. but if the Styx that played for real people was one that he liked the most, that he felt the freest being, then surely that was still fine? he really hopes so.]

I think almost everyone's cool in their own way, deep down. But whatever you're comfortable with, that's what I want to see.

[He laughs faintly.]

I might not be one for the avant garde or anything... Sometimes just having fun is perfect, too. A show, then... We'll set you up with some drums and see what I can catch while you play, maybe?

[comfortable? that was definitely when he was playing, then. the stage was a gorgeous put of electric energy, but at the same time Styx never felt more normal than when he was drumming. it'd a paradox he isn't quite mentally equipped to handle.]

Yeah, that sounds real killer! Be kinda, uh, almost like promo shots, huh? But more natural.
