I'm not sure how many have you have heard. But there's an orphanage in the harbor district that... [She pauses, had Eren told everyone he was the mysterious benefactor?] That changed hands recently. They've been making improvements now, but there's a lot of things that need doing.

[She really lacked the charisma for this. A huff slips out as eventually she gives up and just goes for the good old blunt way.]

Children grow a lot and they need clothes that fit better and will keep them warm when the snow comes.

Professor Croix and I wound up having an overage in our budgeting for the schoolhouse for the orphanage, so we can cycle some of that back into the winter needs budget, as well!

It won't be much, but it's a start, right?

[stopfen]

[Huh? Budget? Schoolhouse? This is news her. ]

-uh- I think you'd need to talk to the owner of the orphanage to do that. I don't work there.

[She just volunteered.]

Oh, I apologize, I didn't mean to assume.

There was an effort by the Mirrorbound Council to secure funding for education for the orphanage. I'm part of that effort, though I do not serve on the council. We were able to secure funding, and now it's just a matter of budgeting.

[stopfen]

Um... [That still didn't sound right. She'd not heard anything about the council being involved.]

I...[drawn out slightly, unsure.] think we're talking about different places? The children I'm thinking of have never been to school... They were all working in a factory until a few months ago.

[beariot]

That's the one! I'm really sorry, I shouldn't have assumed you knew about all of that.

[ She's dying. Just let her die. ]

Why are you sorry? [ It's just, blunt. Confused.]

They really have teachers now? ...I guess that explains why they could write me letters. Even if I couldn't read them... [that was not meant to be recorded.]

[ And yet... she heard it. Pretty clearly. And it was going to sit with her for a bit before she replied. ]

They're all really eager to learn. I think it helps them feel

normal? For lack of a better term. Something a lot of kids that aren't in their situation take for granted, I suppose.

I guess. Thanks... For helping them. [For giving them that sense of normalcy. ] They really seem to enjoy drawing and that stuff.

[She'd seen the paintings. Even if Eren's comment about 'tasting the colours' distracted her from some of it.]

They particularly like drawing the folks that they see volunteer often. Pictures of Eren, of my bonded Kaede, of a masked crow harpy, and a fae girl with dark hair.

[stopfen]

[There's a hum.] I know all of them but Kaede. There's probably few of a big guy with metal in his face and a large puca.

[Also a snake-bird chimera(not) but Leanne was that distinctive Mikasa couldn't say.]

I'm the fae... [It was a waste of time hiding that. She'd been tempted but... She was one of the few, if not the only fae taller than five foot. She'd not seen any others with multiple arms either. Too distinctive to hide.]

I think you and Kaede would get along, if you met! As for the kids, they seem to really admire you.

Yeah... [A snort.] Punching the guy yelling at them does that.

I did bring them cakes too... [Despite that. The conversation gets a sigh from the fae. Her face dropping even if it was hidden by this being a recording.
