Question.

Those of you who're turnskin and had changes which means you want to hunt, do you do it?
Someone who I used to hunt with disappeared. I tried going it alone, and got into some trouble. I don't remember the details, but something happened, and I guess changed, I'm not good at doing it by myself.

If you want to know, I'm a wolf turnskin. So, I have to change once a month anyway. I tried not hunting, and it made changing when I had to do it more difficult.

I'm not good at asking, but I guess the point of this is to ask to tag along with someone that hunts. Or, if there's any other option anyone might be able to think of, that'd help too.

I don't do the hunting thing since I turn into a shiba but I'd be cool with tagging along once in a while

also: balls. find someone with thumbs during the full moon and get them to throw balls. that might help if you don't wanna hunt

and I can still eat other things, but some vegetables make me sick and alas, no more chocolate for me. ever. still go crazy for steak though

I am not a turnskin, but my housemate is. One thing she recommended to me before my first full change was to ensure I had a very full meal the night before. It helps reduce the urge to hunt right away.

I have not had the drive be overwhelming, but I've accompanied her to help carry back anything she takes down that might be too big and go to waste otherwise. :)

Oh, and having food prepared before hand to eat when shape changed is useful, too! One less source of stress for the few days you're overwhelmed.

It's weird though. Since this happened, it's not like I can eat anything but meat, but a couple days before changing even that's kind of gross. It's got to be warm.

These are things natives take for granted. So sharing this sort of information should be normalized between the Mirrorbound, I think. Plus, different stokes for different coats, y'know?

I guess. But at the same time, it's kind of personal. Stuff that some people don't see as that bad can be really uncomfortable for other people.

[And some of them tend to get more shit than others from the natives. It's no wonder that some of those people are more reluctant to share information.]

Hmm. I suppose you have a point. On the other hand, things can be written down and shared anonymously. Just knowing someone's had the experience can help, even if you don't have a face or a name.

Ah, pack hunter. No doubt there's literal lone wolves around, but it's easier in a pack for sure. Or with your bonded. If they're close by, it helps with maintaining focus.

One of my fans was a Turnskin, before he returned through his mirror. You could say he did plenty of hunting... If the throw pillows of a couch count as prey.

But that's not all! On occasion, he'd put that hunting instinct to good use by chasing... me! Not terribly surprising! Both as an idol worth pursuit... And, well. A Puca.

I could tire him out in a night, with my hands tied behind my back! Maybe you should get someone to distract you, if hunting's ever out of the question.
