voice; Look Who Left The Bar
Name: Tsutha (un: tdfsh)
Date: March 7th
Format: voice
Content Warning: intoxication
[ It takes an impressive amount of alcohol to intoxicate a half-orc. They are naturally resilient, with stronger than average constitutions just on principle.
And yet, Tsutha is hammered. After only just one drink!
She would be impressed, if she wasn't more concerned by the other odd side effect of her sudden drunkenness. ]

[The voice sounds correct, if slurred, but the words coming out of her mouth...]
You're speaking nonsense.

[ Her voice sounds relieved, at least, to be talking to a friend. ]

Are you at home? I can come there and we can figure out what's wrong.

[ Wait. There's no way she would be able to understand that. Tsutha tries again, speaking slowly and enunciating as much as she can. ]

[ Ughhh!! Giving up on speaking for now, Tsutha turns her camera on and points it at the sign hanging atop the Sly Dog tavern, then pans it around to show the street corner where she's standing, in a neighborhood Alice might recognize as being near the docks. ]

The Sly Dog Tavern. Got it. I'll see you soon.
[Alice is familiar with taverns around the city, particularly the ones far away from the upper-class parts. They're good places to advertise her exorcism business, and there's a sort of familiarity about them that she finds herself drawn to despite not really drinking much. She's been in so many dive bars throughout her life as she's traveled and battled that the atmosphere in them almost feels like home.
She leaves immediately for the tavern, not wasting any time. Whatever has happened to her friend needs to be addressed ASAP. It's not long before Alice is there in person, slightly out of breath from running.]

[ Godsdammit, her words are still not coming out right. She groans, dropping her head into her hands. ]
no subject
Now that she's here and has confirmed Tsutha's safety, Alice actually takes the time and try to decode what her friend is trying to say. She turns the word over and over, murmuring it slightly to herself. It sounds almost familiar...
Wait a second.]
Alice? You said my name, right? Alice?
[Oh goodness, Tsutha's speaking backwards.]

You're speaking backward, Tsutha. Someone must of hexed you in there.
[Will a healing spell work? Alice is gonna try it.]
no subject
[ Now that Alice was smart enought to figure out that everything's coming out backwards, Tsutha will try to combat the problem by saying her words in reverse order on purpose. ]
woH od ew xif ti?
[ Nope, that didn't work quite as she planned. ]
no subject
Let me try casting a healing spell to see if it will help. If it doesn't, then we go inside and start asking questions.
[Not that she expects too much cooperation, but it's worth a try.
Alice closes her eyes and murmurs a few words, pulling energy from herself and the world around her. A soft light covers Tsutha for a moment before disappearing.]
How about now?
no subject
As the light fades, she peeks an eye open, nervous to open her mouth. She does feel better. Maybe it worked? ]

[ ......Nope. ]

[At least her complexion looks better? But it seems the healing did something about her inebriation and nothing about the actual problem at hand.]
I guess we need to start asking around about a counter-hex. Are you comfortable going inside the tavern?
voice; un: magicowl
As a practicing alcoholic, I am a little impressed that you managed to operate your watch without messing up once or twice. Kudos, though I think your speech may be, ummmmm, impeded.
[ A beat. ]
More than what's expected of a drunk person, at least.
Re: voice; un: magicowl
[ Thankfully, her distress is serving to sober her up somewhat. (Not that it's easy to tell, given that she's still speaking gibberish.) ]
no subject
Can't understand you friend, still sounds drunk ramblings.
[ But it's not. There's a pattern to her speech, but what is it? ]
Do me a favor, say the following words: Madam. Level. Rotor. Kayak.
[ He doubts it could be this simple but, eh, worth a shot. ]

Sweet merciful- you are actually just speaking backwards!
[ Whoever did this was a child and should be bent over the knee. ]
Alright, where did you say you were? I'll take a crack at breaking that....I dunno, curse? Spell? Whatever it is.

[ Oh... Okay yeah, now that's beginning to make some sense. ]

I know the place. I'll be there in a bit.
[ On the list of things he thought he was expecting from this place, this was...on the list but very very far down. Regardless, he shows up half an hour later, still wearing his black apron, a heavy smell of spices coming from him, with a fluffy calico cat at his heels.
He's not quite sure who he's looking for when he departed, but he figured that anyone standing outside the tavern looking either annoyed, worried, or both would be easy to spot. But then again, it is a tavern of sailors. ]
Hey, I'm looking for someone. Speaking really odd, probably was stomping around here roughly an hour or so. Seen anyone like that, or heard?
[ He does find her, not realizing she is the person he's looking for. ]

She brightens, waving a hand excitedly and pointing at her own chest. ]

I didn't understand any of that, hun. But I'll assume you were introducing yourself, in that case, I'm Bishop. The cat is Stella.
[ When he lets go of her hand, she'll find a rich deep blue magic circle hovering right above her palm. ]
Hold that to your chest please. It'll make finding the source of the spell easier for me. Now...
[ He opens other hand, a magic ring similar to the circle appearing but with the inside of the ring forming vague shapes of letters or runes. ]

[ It's why he asked an easy question - because there's a distinct difference in how yes or no would sound, even with the issues she's experiencing. So, he's able to figure out from that. But, he'll absolutely make his way there without hesitation. ]

action.
In the meantime, he's noticed someone at the bar near him having... a Time.
When she smacks herself in the face, he finally stands up to move closer, leaning in to peer at the stranger messing with her Watch. More than likely a Mirrorbound, then. ]
Er, excuse me... are you quite all right?
[ People get drunk here all the time. But they don't usually start talking gibberish and smacking themselves while drinking alone. If it seems like trouble though, he has no problems calling the bouncers. ]
(( ooc: I hope an action tag-in is okay! If you don't prefer action, just lmk, no worries! ))

[ By the time someone thinks to come check on her, Tsutha has given up on recording some kind of cry for help on her watch, and slumped over with her head on the table. When approached, she turns her head to the side, frowning, and mumbles. ]

[ Oh, no. She doesn't look... great. And he's not actually in the habit of taking care of random drunk strangers. But there was something about the way she was talking into the watch that sounded a bit desperate, and it makes him feel guilty for considering how quickly he should abandon her.
Damn his stupid conscience. Waver sighs, pulling up a chair at the bar beside her and gesturing for the bartender. ]
Let's get you some water.
Say it again. Slowly, this time. You're speaking gibberish.

Tsutha, I can't understand you. I don't know what language you're speaking, but it's not one I speak.

Should I come find you? Or can you get home?
