[ It takes an impressive amount of alcohol to intoxicate a half-orc. They are naturally resilient, with stronger than average constitutions just on principle.

And yet, Tsutha is hammered. After only just one drink!

She would be impressed, if she wasn't more concerned by the other odd side effect of her sudden drunkenness. ]

[ There's an audible groan and a soft thwap! sound, as of someone smacking themselves in the face, trying to sober themselves up. ]

[The relief in Tsutha's voice is clear, even if her words continue to not be. Alice feels that she knows her friend well enough to know that this isn't a prank. Something's wrong.]

Are you at home? I can come there and we can figure out what's wrong.

[ Wait. There's no way she would be able to understand that. Tsutha tries again, speaking slowly and enunciating as much as she can. ]

[ Ughhh!! Giving up on speaking for now, Tsutha turns her camera on and points it at the sign hanging atop the Sly Dog tavern, then pans it around to show the street corner where she's standing, in a neighborhood Alice might recognize as being near the docks. ]

[Alice is familiar with taverns around the city, particularly the ones far away from the upper-class parts. They're good places to advertise her exorcism business, and there's a sort of familiarity about them that she finds herself drawn to despite not really drinking much. She's been in so many dive bars throughout her life as she's traveled and battled that the atmosphere in them almost feels like home.

She leaves immediately for the tavern, not wasting any time. Whatever has happened to her friend needs to be addressed ASAP. It's not long before Alice is there in person, slightly out of breath from running.]

[ By the time Alice gets there, Tsutha has sat down on a bench, then gotten tired and laid down on the bench. She was just beginning to doze off when she hears Alice's hurried footsteps, and sits up, swaying slightly. ]

[ Godsdammit, her words are still not coming out right. She groans, dropping her head into her hands. ]

[Yep, Tsutha's still drunk and still talking strangely. Alice sits next to her, rubbing her back gently as she hangs her head.

Now that she's here and has confirmed Tsutha's safety, Alice actually takes the time and try to decode what her friend is trying to say. She turns the word over and over, murmuring it slightly to herself. It sounds almost familiar...

Wait a second.]

Alice? You said my name, right? Alice?

[Oh goodness, Tsutha's speaking backwards.]

[ Tsutha nods energetically. ]

[The spelling confirms it.]

You're speaking backward, Tsutha. Someone must of hexed you in there.

[Will a healing spell work? Alice is gonna try it.]

[ Now that Alice was smart enought to figure out that everything's coming out backwards, Tsutha will try to combat the problem by saying her words in reverse order on purpose. ]

[ Nope, that didn't work quite as she planned. ]

[Alice frowns. Decoding her name when it's uttered as a single word is one thing, but full sentences are something else. She doesn't even realize the shift in word order--it all sounds like jibberish to her.]

Let me try casting a healing spell to see if it will help. If it doesn't, then we go inside and start asking questions.

[Not that she expects too much cooperation, but it's worth a try.

Alice closes her eyes and murmurs a few words, pulling energy from herself and the world around her. A soft light covers Tsutha for a moment before disappearing.]

[ As Alice closes her eyes, so does Tsutha, concentrating on letting herself be receptive to the healing magic. As though somehow, she can will herself to be cured.

As the light fades, she peeks an eye open, nervous to open her mouth. She does feel better. Maybe it worked? ]

[At least her complexion looks better? But it seems the healing did something about her inebriation and nothing about the actual problem at hand.]

I guess we need to start asking around about a counter-hex. Are you comfortable going inside the tavern?
