Everyone who arrives in an unorthodox way and eventually shows up at the Coven for 'orientation', will receive a strange, watch-like device compliments of the Coven and Parliament. Miss Nessie or one of the welcome wagon crew will give characters a run-down of how to use the various functions and they are encouraged to test them out for themselves. It would be good for them to get in touch with their fellow Mirrorbound, of course!
Fourth wall characters will not be able to make their own posts in the communities, so they may use this post to make "network posts" of their own by top-leveling. The log post is right over here.
Fourth Wall characters can comment on posts made by others in both aefenglom and middaeg until June 1st. Current players: Please specify in your posts if you do NOT want fourth wall characters replying!
Yeah, probably. But there's usually a kinda philosophical backing to the 'inhuman' answer that gets thrown around when you ask that sort of shit, so I was curious where this place fell on it.
Fair enough, but if we're talking inequality I'm not sure it matters. I imagine regardless of whether you're defined as "monster" or not there are still levels of inequality, even if there isn't meant to be intentionally.
Yeah, but who are you going to want to help out more - the poor old lady living in a shack, or the thing you've been told your whole life is gonna fly off with your baby if you leave it alone for long enough? The world's shit, no matter which world it is, but there are some holes you can't climb out of.
[and bad enough prejudice...there's no escape from that. it burrows into your own soul.]
I try to be equal. That, and no one's been telling me someone's gonna fly off with my fictional kid. I imagine stories like that are different here than they might've been wherever we come from.
So, is what you're suggesting that you personally need help or someone you know? Because this is all pretty specific to stress over.
[ Jill's more concerned about changing. Mutations. What that means for her, for anyone else. Does it mean they won't be in control? If so, that's where the problem lies for her. ]
Yeah, probably. At least digging up all the stories native to here will kill a hell of a lot of time.
But me? I'm as fucking fantastic as you can be in a place like this. Just taking the temperature of the room, you know? It was the kind of shit that was a real pain in the ass back home.
[funnily enough, the changes don't bother Hazel - or rather, she's already resigned herself to it. she hadn't been in control of herself even before she'd come to this world. why should that have changed?]
Ha, I imagine you'll never finish all of them. But it's not necessarily a bad thing?
Alright, alright. I fully understand where you're coming from considering I'm not too happy about being here, either. I imagine we were all pretty busy or at least living our lives before they were upturned and brought here.
Stitches is fine. Like, no offense or anything, but I'm not really big on putting an actual name to all the shit I'm gonna be spewing on these watches.
Speaking of, that just run of the mill unhappiness or has anything exciting happened to you yet? Besides the amazing welcome wagon, I mean.
That's fair. I can appreciate the anonymity this can provide if you want to use it. As you might guess, my surname is Valentine.
[ Given the "j.valentine" username she uses. ]
Ha ha, just run of the mill. I was in the middle of a mission when I came here and it's left unfinished. Naturally, there's plenty of other reasons that they've given me but we'll have to see how that pans out.
Speaking of the welcome wagon, could stand for a little less enthusiasm. But that's just me.
Kind of figured after the intro. You only realize you could pick anything after you'd registered that, or are you just really in love with corporate-style usernames?
Nah, I feel you on that. Like, I had shit I was doing back home too, but I honestly don't really give a shit either way if that ever gets tied up. Everyone being this excited to see a bunch of fucking weirdo strangers roll off a boat into their world, though...I dunno, screams 'fake' a little too loud for me.
Kinda new to these sorts of things! I just went with my email username back home. Which I guess ties into your corporate guess, ha ha.
I suppose if I could re-choose I'd go with something like "superkicks" maybe. But that'd probably give me away, anyway.
Lucky, then. Not that I'm bitter or anything, just that it is really fortunate you're not stuck at what might feel like an impasse. I hate to admit it, but it feels like any move I make is the wrong one in a damned game of chess now. But I've always hated chess. But you're not wrong. It's all pretty convenient and timely for it to happen at once and display how welcoming and generous they are.
Then again, no one's taken my weapons from me. Could be they're just clueless, though.
[superkicks? what the hell was that, a fucking sneaker collector? of all the weird hobbies for someone pulled into a magical near-apocalypse to have...yeah, she'd be thinking right now, no shit that'd give you away.]
Overconfident, more like. Anyone who can use magic's got an ego the size of a small planet at the very fucking least. Wouldn't surprise me if nobody thought any of the mirrorbound were a real threat with or without their shit.
Too early to say if they're right or not in this case, though.
[ It's someone whose signature move is a superkick, naturally! Better than getting asked what a hurricanrana is all the time if she chose that... ]
Ha, well, I can't say I'm not occasionally a bit of that. Supposedly I should be able to use magic? I don't know. I don't believe in that sort of thing so... I mean it's hard to believe in it, even now. It's definitely fictional where I come from, at the very least.

I guess there's only one way to find out, yeah?

It's veeery much not where I'm from. Guess that makes me "lucky", if you wanna call it that.
Though technically there's two ways to find out...though I guess that depends entirely on how much you buy into this bonding shit.
[and the subsequent explosions from not getting one.]

I guess it could be. I'm leaning toward lucky since I do like where I'm from, ha ha. ;)
You've got my attention. If it's not too tedious it might be worth giving it a go.
[ Explosions are standard for her, so it's nbd.
