Does magic exist in your world? What is it like, and how do others view those who use it? If not, is there something similar to it where you are from?

With so many of us coming from different worlds, it would be a good idea for us to pool our knowledge and resources to figure things out. The rules might not be the same here, but having a base to start from is better than nothing at all, wouldn't you agree?

So mana is like a pool from which anyone can draw from? And those who learn how to control that are able to leave more complicated spells? Interesting.

That does sound useful. How long did it take for you to work out how to conjure something like that, if you don't mind my asking?

Yes! Exactly!

It took a couple of years for me. My friend had much more of a knack for it and learned much more than I did, while I know of others who've devoted their entire lives to learning and developing new spells.

So natural talent still factors in. Are some people able to tap into those stores of mana easier than others, or is it a case of thinking outside the box when it comes to spell crafting?

A bit of both! Some people like you said just have a talent for it, but sometimes just being able to know how to access and use it in new and different ways is enough.

I know a couple of mages who use shortcuts as far as spells - like storing mana in easily accessible forms so they can get around trying to access it directly from the world around them. I'm no mage, though, so I couldn't really tell you the details.

Storing mana for future use. That's ingenious. I wonder if the same concept might work here. It might be worth testing out.

It could! It's odd, though. For some reason I can't really make a magic spell happen? I wonder if this world doesn't have mana, or maybe it's just a problem with me?

You wouldn't be the first one who has said something similar, so it isn't a problem with you specifically. That is one of the reasons why I thought it might be helpful to hear from others about their experiences.

Unfortunately, I haven't figured out how magic works here just yet.
